The 9th-ranked UCLA Bruins will travel to Stanford to take on the 13th-ranked Stanford Cardinal in a rematch of last season’s Pac-12 title game. The Cardinal dropped out of the top 5 in the AP poll after a disappointing loss, while UCLA and quarterback Brett Hundley are rolling right along and look to be a tough out.
The 18th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners are coming off an extremely disappointing loss to Texas in their Red River Rivalry showdown, and will look to take some frustration out against a lowly Kansas Jayhawks team that is taking a major step up in a class.
The Ole Miss Rebels continue their tour of the SEC’s elite teams, following up games against Alabama and Texas A&M with a game against the No. 6 team in the nation, the LSU Tigers.
The 12th-ranked Baylor Bears escaped their first road game with a victory after scratching past Kansas State last week, and now look to get back to their high-scoring ways against the Iowa State Cyclones.
The latest chapter in the storied rivalry between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and USC Trojans will be written on Saturday when the teams face off in South Bend. Notre Dame came out on top in last year’s meeting, but haven’t beaten USC at home since 2001, losing five in a row to the Trojans in South Beach.
The 21st-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys and the TCU Horned Frogs are both coming off a bye and will meet in what should be a tightly contested affair between a pair of teams that can ill afford a loss.
The 11th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks are riding high coming off a blowout win over Arkansas. Now they get a Tennessee Volunteers team that is coming off a bye, but will surely still be feeling the sting of having lost out on a potential upset of Georgia in overtime their last time out.
Coming off a loss against Oregon in the weekend’s marquee matchup, the 20th-ranked Washington Huskies will get thrown right back into the fire when they hit the road to face off with the Arizona State Sun Devils on Sunday.
Texas Tech might be the undefeated team with the least amount of hype right now which is a bit surprising given they kind of have the inside track on the BIG 12 which last I checked that is still considered a major football conference.
Georgia had very high expectations coming into the season but with two losses already most of those are already out the window. Last week they lost to Mizzou and it will be interesting to see the kind of effort they put forth on the road this week with the emotional drainage of their season being a disappointment as well as a host of injuries still to deal with.
Since losing to Alabama there hasn’t been a ton of talk about Texas A&M or Johnny Football in the national media. The fact is that they are still gunning for a BCS bid as they take on this very mysterious Auburn team.
Ohio State was one of the big beneficiaries of last week’s madness as they are now one of only 13 unbeaten teams across the nation. As the only remaining undefeated Big Ten team they have a great chance of running the table and getting back to the BCS provided they don’t get too far ahead of themselves.
The overall results for Week 6 in the NFL saw the underdogs carve out a slight 8-7 edge over the favorites against the spread after five dogs lost straight-up but covered with the points. There was also an unexpected uptick in scoring with nine of the 15 games going OVER the closing total line.
I am happy to say that I cashed-in on last Sunday’s parlay, but moving on to this week’s games, I have uncovered a couple of matchups that come together perfectly to form this Sunday’s NFL parlay of the week based on lines provided by [dfads params=’groups=63740&limit=1&return_javascript=0′].
Pointspread: Atlanta -7
Total Line: 43

The Buccaneers are one of three teams still looking for their first win of the year.
They have no real offensive attack to speak of with an average of 290 yards and 12.8 points a game. Things have been so bad that they have already turned the reins over to rookie quarterback Mike Glennon after parting ways with Josh Freeman.
The only bright spot has been a defense that is ranked 10th in the league in points allowed (20.2).
Atlanta is also off to a disappointing start with just one win in its first five games.
Its passing game took a major hit with the loss of wide receiver Julio Jones and its second-best receiver Roddy White is listed as doubtful with a strained hamstring. Given that the Falcons are ranked 26th in the NFL in rushing, they could really struggle to move the ball against Tampa Bay.
The total has stayed UNDER in seven of the last 10 meetings and it stays UNDER again this Sunday afternoon to secure the front-end of this week’s parlay. [soliloquy id=”82219″]
Pointspread: Denver -6.5
Total Line: 56
ATS Matchup Stats | NFL Gambling Insight!
Denver’s numbers on offense have been staggering in its 6-0 straight-up start behind a red-hot Peyton Manning at quarterback. The Broncos are ranked first in the league in passing yards (360.7), total yards (476.0) and points per game (44.2).
They have outscored their opponents by a combined 107 points and despite being heavy favorites in every game they play the Broncos come into this matchup a profitable 6-0 against the spread.
The Colts turned some heads with a 27-7 road victory over San Francisco as 10.5-point underdogs and a 34-28 win against Seattle as three-point underdogs at home, but they looked very average in this past Monday’s 19-9 loss to San Diego as one-point road underdogs.
Indianapolis now has to face the best team in the NFL on a short week. It also has to try and figure out how to stop a quarterback that spent 14 seasons winning a ton of games in its own stadium. This all adds up to another Denver victory that covers the spread and makes this parlay a winner.
The Nevada Wolf pack arrive in Boise to take on the Boise State Broncos on Saturday night, looking to spoil the party, while pulling off an upset and the possibility of a postseason berth.
Alabama enters Saturday’s contest with the Arkansas Razorbacks favored to win for the 46th consecutive game.
