The Frys.com Open goes this week in California and like last week, there isn’t a whole lot of star power in the field – in fact there may be less this week than last.

Week 5 is in the books and two teams remain undefeated – 2! There is no movement at the top of the Rankings this week but further down some teams have tumbled and others have shot up. You absolutely have to love the parity of the NFL don’t ya?
When Syracuse was 0-2 with a close loss to Northwestern and a relatively impressive performance against USC some were thinking the program is finally getting back to some solid footing before it bolts to the ACC.
Its funny, Alabama continues to win easily but fails to impress…kind of. They are just 2-3 ATS this season and as the wins mount they seem to be not a very interesting part of the BCS conversation…perhaps it is because they are too obvious.
This is not a very good Iowa team but they are one of just two teams in the Big Ten Legends division that has yet to lose a conference game (1-0).
After sneaking a victory on the road at Oklahoma State the Texas Longhorns stumbled last Saturday, running into the buzzsaw that is West Virginia and QB Geno Smith.
The Arizona State Sun Devils are off to a nice 4-1 start under new coach Todd Graham. Graham didn’t make any friends in Pittsburgh, but he did prove he could win at Tulsa. Colorado stunned Washington State on the road, but they have also had four terrible losses.
The Tennessee Titans come into this game at 1-4, but even that doesn’t tell how badly the team has played this year. All of the Titans four losses have come by at least 21 points.
Headline: Texans Look to Deepen Jets Wounds on Monday Night
The Houston Texans will look to remain perfect on the season when they travel to New York to take on the completely dysfunctional Jets. It is a tale of two franchises – one going in completely the right direction and the other sliding down that slippery slope in the wrong direction – I will let you decide which franchise is going in which direction!
Headline: Saints Look For Elusive First Win at Home versus San Diego
Who would have thunk it? Not me! The New Orleans Saints look to snap a miserable four game losing streak when they host a confident Chargers team coming off a win last week in Kansas City. It’s not that the Saints have been a total disaster – it is the defense that has been absolutely dreadful and not giving its offense a chance.
The Sprint Cup series heads to the fabled this week for the running of the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500, which is the fourth race of this season’s Chase to the Sprint Cup title.
The Ravens (3-1) have won 2 straight and are tied with the Bengals atop the AFC North. Unlike the last few years the Ravens are led by their offense, as their defense has not been the dominant unit we are used to seeing.
The Vikings (3-1) are off to a surprising start and they have won 2 straight and are tied with the Bears atop the NFC North. The Titans (1-3) have really struggled on defense this season, as they only rank 27th in the league both defending the pass and defending the run.
The Bengals (3-1) have won 3 straight after an opening season loss and their offense has been solid in their 3-game winning streak. They face a 1-3 Dolphins’ team, but in their last 2 games they lost both in OT, so the Fish are close to being 3-1.
The Packers (2-2) came up with a much needed win at home in this last game and to keep pace with the Bears (3-1) they need to beat the Colts (1-2).
It is hard to tell whether Philadelphia is lucky or whether things are just evening out this year. This team has three wins by a combined 4 points and an ugly loss to Arizona.
