2017 NFL MVP Predictions: Tom Brady (+1000) (Mild Sleeper)
The MVP case for Tom Brady is one of the most intriguing cases of any player across the NFL. As long as he’s an active quarterback, he’s going to be a favorite (he’s currently fifth, just missing the cut on our list of favorites.
But what makes this year particularly interesting is the four-game suspension he’ll face at the start of the year.

At its foundation, the MVP is given to the most valuable player in the NFL.
While definining “valuable” is a subjective and often controversial subject, nothing would prove his value more than watching the New England Patriots flop the first four games of the year and then find immediate success upon his return.
The catch is that A) There’s no guarantee this is how the narrative ultimate plays out, and B) MVPs across all sports are often determined by taking a strong look at stats.
Brady’s stats won’t look nearly as good as the Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newtons of the world, so his candidacy ultimately comes down to how the Pats look both with and without him on the field.
2017 NFL MVP Predictions: Khalil Mack (+5000)
When it comes to defensive players, J.J. Watt is always going to be in the mix. But if you’re looking for a name that casual fans might not recognize, look no further than Khalil Mack.

The Oakland Raiders’ defense has a chance to do something special this year, and Mack is a huge reason why. He’s an excellent pass rusher and an incredible athlete at 6’3″, 247 pounds.
Last season, Mack completed 15 sacks and forced two fumbles. He also has another DE in Bruce Irvin to take away some of the attention he’ll undoubtedly receive.
All signs point to Mack as a strong pick this season despite being just 16th in terms of odds.
2017 NFL MVP Predictions: Le’Veon Bell (+15000)
We’re going to give Le’Veon Bell the Tom Brady treatment here.
Although Bell was set to face a four-game suspension to start the year, the sentence has since been dropped to three contests. This gives the Pittsburgh Steelers plenty of time to prove just how valuable their running back is, and it gives said running back a chance to stay fresh.
The truth is that this team has two players rostered who have better chances (and odds) of taking home the hardware: Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown.
But with Bell having the chance to prove himself, and more importantly his value, he could be a sleeper during the second half of the year.
2017 NFL MVP Predictions: Rob Gronkowski (+6600)
We’ve discussed at length so far what would happen if teams struggle without key pieces. That said, there’s another scenario, specifically for the New England Patriots.

If the Pats stay afloat in Brady’s absence, it will likely be because Rob Gronkowski has made up the difference. Chances are he’ll be a crutch for Jimmy Garoppolo.
What’s that? You’re not convinced beacuse no tight end has ever won NFL MVP? Fear not — Gronk cares not for your precedents.
The league has never seen a player like Gronkowski at his position, so counting him out based on the past makes no sense knowing what we know about him at this juncture.
