NFL Power Rankings Week 4
Looking for 2016 NFL Power Rankings? Week 3 of the NFL season is in the books – what a crazy week it was! The #2-6 teams in last week’s Rankings all lost making for a bit of a shakeup in the dirty dozen.
How about the Vikings and the Eagles who make an unforeseen debut in the top 10?
NFL Football Handicapping
How about the Ravens and the Cowboys who also somehow make it into the dirty dozen? It is the NFL after all – things in this league are as fluid as any on the planet.
So where does your favorite stand heading into Week 4? Let’s take a look in Dave B’s Week 4 NFL Power Rankings.
1. New England Patriots
(3-0) – Last Week: 1
It’s almost unfair isn’t it? I mean the Pats bring in their third string QB and absolutely destroy one of the hotter teams in the NFL – Houston. You gotta give it up for Bill Belichick and the Pats coaching staff – they have this team supremely prepared every week.
Who saw 3-0 without Brady and Gronkowski?
2. Denver Broncos
(3-0) – Last Week: 2
We all knew that Denver would bring the defense but how about Trevor Siemian who went for 312 yards passing and 4 TDs Sunday against a good Bengals defense?

Denver looks to be employing the same philosophy that had them win to all last year – if the offense continues to do its part there is no reason the Broncos don’t stay elite!
3. Minnesota Vikings
(3-0) – Last Week: 11
If defense wins championships the Vikings have an awfully good chance! They held the Panthers to 10 points on Sunday and created three turnovers along the way. Any team that can make Cam Newton look average has a spot high in my Rankings!
Sam Bradford is finally living up to expectation and the fans are quickly forgetting who Teddy Bridgewater is.
4. Philadelphia Eagles
(3-0) – Last Week: 16
How about a 12 spot-jump in the Rankings? I believe! Carson Wentz has been remarkable in setting rookie records, the Eagles defense held the vaunted Steelers offense to just 3 points and the team is getting better as a whole with every quarter played.
The Eagles are a fun team to watch right now – big things are now expected!
5. Seattle Seahawks
(2-1) – Last Week: 7
The Seahawks absolutely pummeled the 49ers on Sunday and finally go back to what had made them successful in years past – a terrific running game led by Christine Michael, an efficient passing game that includes Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham and a stifling defense.

We have all be waiting for Seattle to kickstart their season – Week 3 could have been it! Keep an eye on Russell Wilson’s health however!
6. Green Bay Packers
(2-1) – Last Week: 8
The Packers held on against the Lions on Sunday – Aaron Rodgers had 4 TD passes in the first half and Eddie Lacy gained over 100 yards on the ground.
Green Bay played without three key starters on defense – when they get healthy the Pack becomes a serious contender! Jordy Nelson continues to be the biggest difference-maker on the team.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) – Last Week: 4
The Steelers laid an egg on Sunday against the upstart Eagles – a 34-3 loss for this offense is almost unfathomable. I am giving them a mulligan for now – there is no way Big Ben is that bad and the running game is stuck in the mud again.
LeVeon Bell returns from suspension this week and keeps Pittsburgh in the top 7 going forward.
8. Baltimore Ravens
(3-0) – Last Week: 12
Don’t look now but the Baltimore Ravens are 3-0 and playing pretty good all-around ball. Sure their schedule has been easy but 3-0 is 3-0! Baltimore’s defense has been a nice surprise and the offense has been a good compliment all year long so far.
They host the Raiders this week hoping to keep the streak going.
9. Arizona Cardinals
(1-2) – Last Week: 3
#9 may be a bit generous for the Cardinals but on paper they are still one of the top teams in the league. Carson Palmer won’t have many games like he did against the Bills and the defense will likely not be exposed like that again all season.
Don’t panic Cardinals fans – your team WILL come around!
10. Kansas City Chiefs
(2-1) – Last Week: 13
The Chiefs turned in arguably the most impressive defensive effort in quite some time on Sunday – eight turnovers versus the Jets including SIX interceptions.
They should get Jamaal Charles back next week making this team a sneaky threat to the AFC
11. Dallas Cowboys
(2-1) – Last Week: 17
How about the Cowboys – they look like a contender with Dak Prescott at the helm – don’t they? He has been effective and efficient and Zeke Elliot has been as advertized.

It’s pretty hard to imaging Tony Romo keeping his job which speaks to the impressive nature of this cohesive team.
12. Carolina Panthers
(1-2) – Last Week: 5
It took until the Super Bowl for the Panthers to lose their second game of the season last year – they have equaled that after three games!
Their losses are to the Broncos and the Vikings however – the only reason they are in the dirty dozen this week.
A few tweaks and an easier schedule should see Carolina return to the top 10 sooner rather than later.
13. New York Giants (2-1) – Last Week: 10
14. Oakland Raiders (2-1) – Last Week: 14
15. Houston Texans (2-1) – Last Week: 6
16. Cincinnati Bengals (1-2) – Last Week: 9
17. Indianapolis Colts (1-2) – Last Week: 20
18. Atlanta Falcons (2-1) – Last Week: 18
19. Washington Redskins (1-2) – Last Week: 19
20. New York Jets (1-2) – Last Week: 15
21. Detroit Lions (1-2) – Last Week: 21
22. Los Angeles Rams (2-1) – Last Week: 28
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-2) – Last Week: 22
24. Tennessee Titans (1-2) – Last Week: 24
25. Buffalo Bills (1-2) – Last Week: 31
26. Miami Dolphins (1-2) – Last Week: 26
27. San Diego Chargers (1-2) – Last Week: 23
28. San Francisco 49ers (1-2) – Last Week: 27
29. New Orleans Saints (0-3) – Last Week: 30
30. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) – Last Week: 25
31. Chicago Bears (0-3) – Last Week: 29
32. Cleveland Browns (0-3) – Last Week: 32
