After beating Utah the Trojans have a lot more at stake in this one. They have been beating up on the Bears for years and will be looking to do the same.

Cal has been cooled down with back to back road losses but they have not lost at home this season.
USC
The Trojans showed a lot in beating the Utes last week but lets not forget the game was at home and they were favoured despite their recent dramas. When it comes to talent few teams are their equal.
One of those talents is freshman running back Ronald Jones. Against Utah he had a season high 15 carries and it looks like they are finally going to start letting him be a force out there.

When they have to throw Cody Kessler and Juju Smith form one of the best pass-catch duos in the nation. Kessler rarely makes mistakes but in this matchup he is going to be the other quarterback.
That means a defense that has not been the best through the air this season – 83rd – is going to have to have its best game. The Bears are very good passing the ball.
USC has beaten Cal the last 11 times they have played. The majority of those were not close so it is no surprise they are being given a lot of respect heading into this one.
California
Even though they have lost their last two games the Bears have taken a step forward this season. They have gotten respectable on defense, allowing their offense to win games they were losing as recently as a year ago.
That offense is led by Jared Goff, the top QB in next year’s draft for some. They are 10th in the nation and are hard to stop because he really spreads the ball around.

The key to success though has been the defense, which in the middle of the pack is good enough. Last year they gave up 38 points to the Trojans and lost. This year it is reasonable to expect a better performance.
The Bears are a tough team to figure out. They probably pretty good but the PAC12 is also really deep this season.
