2019 PGA The Desert Classic Preview and Picks
Ready to bet on this week’s 2019 The Desert Classic betting odds? The PGA Tour is back California this week for the Desert Classic. The big news is Rose is playing again and should add some firepower to a field that has some nice names. We predicted the Matt Kuchar victory last week so let’s get you on another winner this week.
2019 The Desert Classic
- Where: Stadium Course, La Quinta, CA
- Format: 72 holes – Stroke Play
- Purse: $5,900,000
- Defending Champion: Jon Rahm
- TV Coverage: Golf Channel
- Updated Sportsbook Bonuses For Today
With all of that in mind who should we be keeping an extra eye on this week? Let’s break it down.
2019 The Desert Classic Favorites:
Jon Rahm +650
Jon Rahm isn’t the biggest name on the card this weekend, but he was the winner last year so it’s no surprise that he is the favorite.
[dfads params=’groups=248&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Although I think he has a good weekend I don’t think he wins and at this price he isn’t a great value. You can get golfers with better chances to win at a lot better price.
Justin Rose +900
Rose is teeing it up for the first time on American Soil since winning the FexEx Cup and comes into this game with the second best odds.
This is his first time at this course since 2010 and I really don’t think he is a good value either. I know he is tempting at this price, but I would stay away.
2018 The Desert Classic Contenders:
Patrick Cantlay +1600
Patrick Cantlay is coming off a long layoff but he finished off last season strong including a 5th place finish at the Hero World Challenge.
I wish his price was a bit better, but this is tempting even at this price.
Aaron Wise +3300
Aaron Wise is also a guy that does well at multiple courses at the same tournament which means he should have success this weekend.
He doesn’t get a lot of the attention some of the bigger names do, but he is consistent finishing high at tournaments.

2019 The Desert Classic Sleeper (+4000 or higher):
Scott Piercy +4000
Scott Piercy has had a career resurgence the last few weeks and he has been a guy who has always done well with the multi-course formats.
He is 1st so far this year in strokes gained and I think if you are looking for an underdog with a shot this is your guy.
2019 The Desert Classic Picks:
The guy I do really like is – Patrick Cantley to have a nice tournament and end up on top on Sunday Afternoon.
After just missing out on it last weekend, he will get the job done this week.
