The Oakland Athletics will do battle with the Toronto Blue Jays in the second game of their three-game series in Toronto.
The A’s are playing great baseball right now, while the Blue Jays are struggling to generate the same offensive firepower they did last year.
Oakland Athletics
After a rough start to the season, the A’s find themselves as the hottest team in the American League. Oakland isn’t exactly tearing the cover off the ball, but the team is getting the job done with sound defense and quality pitching.

From April 16-21,
The A’s outscored their opponents 23-12 in five games.
The A’s are in the bottom-10 in nearly every offensive category in the majors, but their pitching has been absolutely phenomenal.
Led by Sonny Gray and Kendall Graveman, Oakland is 4th in the majors in ERA, 6th in WHIP, 7th in BAA and 8th in quality starts.
The Athletics have one of the best pitching staffs in the big leagues, and they’re getting help from their starters, their middle relievers, and closer Ryan Madson.
Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays were known for their arsenal of bats last season, but this year they’re getting the job done with their pitching.
Let’s not forget Toronto still has guys like Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson in the lineup, but the Jays’ pitching has outperformed their bats so far this year.

J.A. Happ is scheduled to toe the rubber in Saturday’s tilt with Oakland. He comes in with a 2-0 record to go along with a 1.89 ERA and a WHIP of just 1.21.
During his last start against Boston on April 18, Happ allowed just one earned run on four hits in seven quality innings as the Blue Jays beat the Red Sox 4-3 in Fenway Park.
Happ will look to continue his hot start on Saturday, but he’s going to need some help from his offense which has been struggling as of late.
Toronto has only scored more than five runs in a game once since April 14, and the Jays will hope for better luck against Oakland’s Chris Bassitt.

Free Oakland Athletics vs. Toronto Blue Jays MLB Prediction:
I think this will be a low-scoring affair with two quality pitchers taking the mound. Both Bassitt and Happ have been stellar in their first few starts, and neither team is lighting it up on offense. This one seems like a low-scoring affair.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Under 9
With two quality starters taking the mound as well as two offenses struggling to score runs, this game has all the makings of a pitcher’s duel. I think that’s what we’re going to get in this one.
