Winnipeg is coming off of a 6-3 shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night, and are currently sitting in 2nd last place in the Central Division at 11-13-2.
The Blues, on the other hand, enter the game just four points back of the Division-leading Chicago Blackhawks, with one game at hand.
The Blues have a 14-7-3 record for 31 points entering Saturday’s home game against the Jets.
Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg has no trouble putting the puck in the net this season, and their talented forward corps is making the organization’s drafting and development look top-notch.
The Jets currently sit 13th in goals per game this year, with an average total of 2.6 per contest.
Mark Scheifele has had a breakout season at age-23, scoring 13 goals and tacking on another 13 assists for 26 points.
His 26 points sit him firmly in fourth overall in the league scoring race. Scheifele leads the talented young snipers, joined by Nikolaj Ehlers, Nic Petan, Marko Dano, Kyle Connor, Joel Armia, and Blake Wheeler.
Rookie Patrik Laine is coming off of a two-goal effort against Edmonton, and now ranks him in the sole possession of second spot in NHL goal-scoring.
His shot, which was touted to be amongst the best even entering the league, has lived up to the hype and he looks every bit the part of a future Rocket Richard winner.

Connor Hellebuyck, a former 5th round pick and still just 23-years old, is the starting netminder for now and potentially the future.
While he hasn’t performed to the standards he set a season ago, Hellebuyck has recorded a 2.54 GAA and a .915 SV% on the season to go along with his 9-8-0 record.
He may, at some point, give way to former 2nd round pick, Eric Comrie, who bides him time and develops in the minors.
St. Louis Blues
Speaking of future Rocket Richard winners, look no further than the Blues’ young star winger, Vladimir Tarasenko.
Tarasenko has all the makings to earn the title in the future, having amassed 13 goals to date this season, and sitting one point ahead of Scheifele in the point race, with 27.
The Russian winger is the front man of the deep Blues’ forward corps, joined by the likes of Jaden Schwartz, David Perron, Paul Stastny, Robby Fabbri and Alex Steen.
The club currently sits in 12th in the league in goals per game, averaging 2.8 and ranking 6th in powerplay efficiency at a 23.3% success rate.
The backend is equally as strong as their forward group, led by newly-anointed captain, Alex Pietrangelo, who took over the leadership role after the off-season departure of David Backes.
Kevin Shattenkirk leads the team in defensive scoring with six goals and 13 assists in a contact year.
There are many rumblings that this year will be his last in St. Louis, and he’s making a strong case for a massive off-season contract.
Colton Parayako and Jay Bouwmeester round-out a formidable top-four group.

In net, Jake Allen was finally handed the starter reigns after years of time sharing with Brian Elliot. He’s embraced the task, registering a 2.47 GAA and .907 SV% in 19 games this season.
Allen currently sits in a tie for third in wins with 12 and owns a 12-3-3 record.

I think the likes of Laine, Tarasenko, Scheifele and Schwartz keep filling the score sheet in this game.
As per the stats listed above, the teams also have had some issues keeping the puck out of their respective nets, despite each teams boasting a nice group of defenseman.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Over 5.5
All signs points to a high goal total, with each team having scored at least three goals in each of their past three games. Over the last five for St. Louis, they have scored a total of 20 over that span, for an average of four goals per game.
Winnipeg isn’t far behind that mark, and will face a goaltender in Allen that owns a sub-.910 SV%.
