The Lightning head into their second game of their California road trip as they get set to take on the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.
Tampa Bay has overcame many early season injuries and showed it in their road trip opener with a 2-1 win over Anaheim on Wednesday.

The Sharks will be playing in the 2nd leg of their back-to-back as they fell to the same Anaheim team 1-0 on Friday.
Tampa Bay
The Lightning can clinch a winning road trip with a victory over the Sharks here on Saturday. They’ll conclude the quick California swing on Sunday in Los Angeles against the Kings as part of a back-to-back.
Tampa Bay’s main problem last year consisted of key players getting hurt at the wrong time. While there is no great time to have injuries, the beginning of the season is much better than having them toward the end.

Tyler Johnson, Cedric Paquette and Ondrej Palat all remain questionable for Saturday night’s contest as they continue to battle injuries. The trio missed the win in Anaheim on Wednesday, but saw one of their fellow injured teammates return to the lineup in style.
Jonathan Drouin returned for Tampa Bay on Wednesday and contributed a goal and an assists as he played a role in both goals.
G Ben Bishop also continues to contribute in a big way as he has allowed 2 goals or less in 10 of his last 12 outings.
San Jose
San Jose was one of the hottest teams in the NHL not too long ago as they swept a 6 game road trip and propelled themselves way above the .500 mark.
However, since then things have hit a brick wall as the Sharks are struggling all over the place.
San Jose has now dropped 3 of their last 4 after falling in Anaheim 1-0 on Friday night. Patrick Marleau, who had carried a goal streak of 4 games saw that come to an end in the shutout loss.

The Sharks have hit major problems on the offensive side of things. Prior to their last 2 games, San Jose had scored 26 goals over an 8 game span. In their last 2, they’ve tallied just 1 goal. On the season, San Jose is averaging 2.64 goals per game.
G Alex Stalock is expected to be in goal on Saturday as normal starter Martin Jones will get a rest day with this being a back-to-back.

The Sharks goal scoring problems are a major concern here. However, with the Lightning having so much injury questions, backing the home team is a safer play her.
