A pair of Pacific Divisional foes meet in Southern California as the San Jose Sharks look for their 17th road win of the season.

San Jose
The San Jose Sharks are playing their best hockey of the season and find themselves just seven points behind the L.A. Kings for first place in the Pacific Division. Led by Joe Pavelski, Joe Thornton and Brent Burns, the Sharks are 8-0-2 in their last 10 games and 4-1 in their last five road games.
San Jose’s offense has carried the load this season, and the team comes into this matchup 4th in the NHL in goals, 6th in shooting percentage and 3rd on the power play.
San Jose’s 142 goals scored are also the 3rd-most in the Western Conference.

Pavelski has led the way the entire season as one of the NHL’s best scorers. His 25 goals are tied for 3rd in the league, his 49 points rank 5th, and his plus/minus mark of 18 is also in the top-10.
Pavelski, Thornton and Burns all have more than 40 points, and they are a collective reason as to why San Jose is finally within striking distance of the Kings.
The Sharks have also been a much better road team this year, posting a record of 16-6-2 away from home.
Anaheim
The Ducks got off to an abysmal start this season, though they’re only two points behind the Arizona Coyotes for 3rd place in the Pacific. The Ducks have a similar blueprint to the New Jersey Devils. Both teams have amazing defenses and pitiful offenses.
Anaheim ranks dead last in goals scored at a measly 2.11 per game, and the team also ranks dead last in shooting percentage. On the flip side, the Ducks rank 7th in goals allowed, 3rd in shots on goals allowed and 1st in penalty kill.
Goaltender John Gibson has been the catalyst for the Ducks between the pipes this year. His GAA of 1.91 is tops in the NHL, and he’s the only goalie currently posting a sub-2.00 GAA.
Unfortunately, it isn’t helping the Ducks score any goals, which is preventing their team from climbing even higher in the standings.
Anaheim has only scored 111 goals this year, the 3rd fewest in the NHL.
NHL Hockey Handicapping Trends

Free NHL Hockey Prediction
Both teams are playing their best hockey of the season, but the Ducks can’t score to save their lives. San Jose possesses one of the league’s best offenses, and Pavelski is playing like one of the top forwards in the league. San Jose’s offense should do enough to get past the Ducks.
