The San Joe Sharks and St. Louis Blues have no time to reflect on their Round 2 win.
The two teams battled to 7 games, both obviously coming out on top. Now they meet on Sunday with a spot in the Stanley Cup on the line.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks were the best road team this year in the NHL.
However, that wasn’t the case against the Predators in their Round 2 series. After winning the first two games of the series and then Game 5, all at home, the Sharks failed all three times on the road to take the series control or clinch (in Game 6).

They’ll get the first chance to steal a road game or two here in this series, as it starts in St. Louis on Sunday. The Sharks went 31-11-4-1 on the road this season as they averaged 3.00 goals per road contest.
This team does start from the back, as they have so many weapons defensively.
G Martin Jones has been one of the best this postseason and had a shutout in the decisive Game 7 against Nashville. Brent Burns has proven to be one of the best dual threat players as he can defend with the best and really make an impact in the offensive zone.
St. Louis Blues
The Blues on the other hand made things much more difficult than they had to be.
For the 2nd straight series they went to 7 games as they failed to clinch at home in 6. However, they showed that experience is everything as they went on the road in a tough environment and took out the young Stars team with ease. St. Louis staked themselves to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back.
It was Brian Elliot who really came up huge and set the tone. Elliot did not allow the Stars to gain any momentum and completely took the crowd out of the game.

St. Louis will look to build off their solid home play here and take early control of the series. The Blues have gone 27-15-5-1 at home while holding the opposition to a stellar 2.33 goals per game.
What they’ve done best is not allow the opposition to get out to an early lead. There was one instance in Game 6 against Dallas and they lost. That will be the key here in Game 1, not giving the Sharks an early edge.

4* Free NHL Betting Pick: UNDER the number
With how good both goalies have been, expect both teams to play to a lower scoring game here as neither team really wants to be too aggressive too early.
