A pair of struggling teams square off in Vancouver as the Canucks, losers of three straight, welcome the New Jersey Devils to Rogers Arena.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils have struggled offensively since losing to the Kings in the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, and 2016-17 has been no exception.
New Jersey finds itself ranked near the bottom of every offensive category, and it’s the main reason why the team currently sits in 7th in the Metropolitan Division.

The offense was just as bad last season, but goaltender Corey Schneider bailed them out all season long with his superb play in net. Schneider was voted to the All-Star Game and finished the year as one of the NHL’s best goaltenders.
That’s all ancient history, as Schneider comes into this game with a sub-.500 record to go with a bad GAA and save percentage. If the Devils have any shot at turning this season around, they have to get better goaltending from Schneider.
Vancouver Canucks
Much like the Devils, the Canucks enter this game on a downward slide. Vancouver was one of the NHL’s hottest teams until about a week ago, but a recent lack of offense has seen the Canucks drop three straight.
All three of those losses came on the road, a place that hasn’t been too kind to Vancouver this season. While the Canucks have an impressive home record of 15-6-2, they’re a putrid 5-13-3 on the road. Thankfully, they’ll welcome a New Jersey team that’s dropped their last four games.

If the Canucks are serious about making a playoff push, they’ll need to play better on the road, and they must find some consistency. Before losing three straight, they had won their previous six games.
Improving on a sub-par offense and a mediocre defense is what needs to be done if Vancouver wants to make some noise in the Western Conference.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Devils are 6-12-6 on the road.
- Devils are 6-7-4 vs. the Western Conference.
- Canucks are 15-6-2 at home.
- Canucks are 5-0 in their last five home games.
- Canucks are 6-2-2 in their last 10 games.
Free New Jersey Devils vs. Vancouver Canucks NHL Hockey Prediction:
Both teams are struggling at the moment, but the Canucks are in a much better spot. Not only have they won their last five home games, they’re right in the middle of the Western Conference playoff picture.
