Two teams who needed to pull off upsets in their first round matchups did just that and will now meet here in round 2.
The Predators took out the Ducks in Game 7 in Anaheim while the Sharks handled the Kings.
Nashville Predators
The Predators have Pekka Rinne to really thank for them being in this position.
While he showed many inconsistencies through the first 5 games of the series, Rinne really stepped up in Game 6 and in Game 7. Rinne allowed just 2 goals overall and came up huge down the stretch of Game 7 when the Preds were hanging on to a 2-1 lead.

Rinne will be an obvious major key here in this series as he’ll need to bring that Game 6 and 7 mentality in for the entire series.
The Predators offensively will look to Colin Wilson to be the ignitor. He has been a playoff playmaker as he has put in 7 goals in his last 13 playoff games.
Nashville will need their power play specialists to really turn things around if they hope to grab some success here. They were just 1 for 26 in the series against Anaheim.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks showed very little signs of struggles against the Los Angeles Kings in the opening round of the NHL Playoffs.
San Jose took care of business in 5 games, not giving the Kings any momentum in the series. The Sharks got some solid resting time, which is always vital in the NHL Playoffs. That especially holds true given the Preds going 7 hard fought games.
Joe Pavelski was the spark for the Sharks offensively in the first round. San Jose tallied 5 times against the Kings, really scoring some opportunistic goals that took all the momentum away from the Kings.

Ben Burns also is a huge part for this Sharks team. He can not only cause havoc defensively, but he also has the ability to get the offense going. Burns had a team high 8 points against the Kings and could be in store for another big series.

Free Nashville Predators vs. San Jose Sharks NHL Hockey Prediction
Fatigue and rust could be the story here in Game 1.
Nashville has to be feeling the effects of the long 7 game series. On the other side of things the Sharks took care of business in 5 games in the opening round. They have had extra off days and will come out a bit sloppy and unorganized here.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Under
Look for an Under game here. Both teams will be sloppy and tentative, as they don’t want to make any mistakes.
