Another tough loss in Edmonton, San Jose will head back home down 3-2 in the series heading home for game-6.
They will need their A-game, as their postseason lives are on the line.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers will be in tough on the road in Cali, facing an experienced Sharks squad who were able to close out series while reaching the Cup Finals a year ago.
Connor McDavid will do everything in his power to lift his team into the next round, though the points haven’t come easy this series.
McDavid had been shut down effectively, having just 3 points in 5 games so far.

The depth of the Oilers has been the bright spot thus far through the playoffs, seeing players like Zack Kassian become a hero in consecutive games with winning goals, and David Desharnais chipping in the GWG in game 5 in OT.
Cam Talbot will need to bring his A-game to push the Oilers into the next round. Talbot currently owns a .919 SV% and a 2.39 GAA this playoffs, and made 27 saves on 30 shots to earn the win on Thursday.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks nearly missed out on returning home with their foot on the gas pedal, but lost a crucial game-5 in overtime and now see their playoff lives on the line.
The veteran group is certainly used to the playoff pressure, but will need another quick start to game-6 and then shut down the Oilers if they want to push the series to seven.
Joel Ward is known for his solid play in the playoffs over his career, and currently leads the Sharks with 4 points in the series.

This is not necessarily a good thing for the Sharks though, as they’ll need their star forwards like Joe Pavelski, Joe Thornton, and Logan Couture to find the back of the net in a hurry.
Martin Jones can’t be blamed for the teams’ losses, as he currently owns a 1.69 GAA and a .939 SV% through the first five games. He’ll need to be sharp again to allow the Sharks to reach a one-game finale in Edmonton.

Free Edmonton Oilers vs San Jose Sharks NHL Playoff Prediction:
With the veteran group who reached the Finals last year, now heading back to play in front of their home crowd, I like the Sharks.
I always thought this series was going to go to a game-7, and I continue to believe that.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: San Jose Moneyline -138
The Sharks have been good on home ice, and this series has been so close that game-7 is certainly justified.
