It’s a big Wednesday night rivalry game as Central Division foes Chicago and St. Louis will meet for the fourth time this season.
The Blackhawks currently hold a 2-1 season series advantage and won the last two meetings by a combined score of 6-2. The Blackhawks stockpiled their roster leading up to the trade deadline and look poised to make another run at the Stanley Cup.
The Blues are rolling right now as well with a 7-3-0 record over their last 10 games and come into Wednesday on a three-game win streak.
Chicago
The Blackhawks, as mentioned, did some work ahead of the trade deadline, solidifying their roster with the additions of Tomas Fleischmann, Dale Weise, Andrew Ladd, and Christian Ehrhoff.

Chicago comes in having won three of their last four, including wins over Washington, and a pair of wins over the Detroit Red Wings.
There’s no reason to believe this team will not come in amped up as this mini two game road trip against the Blues and Stars is vital for their playoff ranking.
All three teams have played 67 games, Chicago and Dallas are deadlocked at 87 points, while St. Louis is just two points back at 85. Two wins for Chicago would be huge, and this is a team that always plays its best when there’s a lot on the line.
The forward group is better than arguably any team in the NHL and they have speed in bunches and the ability to attack you in waves.
Despite the depth that they boast, for much of the season it’s been the Patrick Kane – Artemi Panarin combo that has done much of the damage.
Ladd and Fleischmann have both notched goals since joining the team and the faster they start to gel with this team the more likely it seems that the Blackhawks will be the team to beat in the West.
St. Louis
Talk about a quietly productive season. You don’t hear much about the Blues blowing teams out or running off huge win streaks, they just go about their business and win games more often than not.
The Blues will be without top six forward Alex Steen, but make no mistake, this is a deep forward group that is big and strong with the likes of David Backes, Patrik Berglund and Dmitrij Jaskin, who are complimented by a lot of speed and skill with players like Vladamir Tarasenko, Jaden Schwartz and Robby Fabbri.

The net is Jake Allen’s for the taking once again, as the netminder was having a Vezina-like run before he was hurt and gave the job to Brian Elliot.
The latter is now on the IR and Allen has a chance to run with the job and cement himself as the franchise goalie that the team expects him to be.

Free Chicago Blackhawks vs. St. Louis Blues NHL Hockey Prediction
A very likely playoff matchup gets an early preview on Wednesday and both teams will want home ice should that happen.
This game will go a long way to determining that as the Blackhawks can open up a four point lead on the Blues, or St. Louis can pull even with just 14 games left on the schedule.
