The Boston Bruins have always been one of the top tier teams in the NHL Eastern Conference.
After an 0-3 start, they’ll try to get back on track when they travel cross country to take on the Colorado Avalanche.

The Avs were boosted by 5 unanswered goals to capture their first win against the Dallas Stars last time out.
Boston
The Bruins 0-3 start is close to making history. Boston hasn’t started 0-4 since the 1964-1965 season.
Boston started the season at home for 3 straight games with the idea of getting out of the gates quick. However, that clearly wasn’t the case as they dropped all three, getting outscored 16-7.

D Zdeno Chara returned last game after missing the first two with a lower body injury, but even his presence didn’t help the cause. Boston let up 6 goals to Tampa Bay in a 6-3 losing effort.
Things may not even getting better for the Bruins here. G Tuuka Rask, who has struggled through the first 3 games, has a record of 0-3-1 against Colorado and is allowing 4.72 goals against in those 4 games.
Boston has allowed 5.33 goals against this season compared to the 2.33 they are scoring.
Colorado
The Avs have at least found their offensive ways through the first two games of the season. If they can continue to produce like they have, this could be a fun year for Colorado.
Colorado has scored 10 goals through the first two contests, but the goalkeeping has been questionable. Colorado has allowed 4.0 goals per game and that includes the major meltdown against the Minnesota Wild in the season opener.

The Avs did bounce back in a nice way with a 6-3 win over Dallas on Saturday. Gabriel Landeskog finished with 4 points against Dallas alone and has tallied 3 goals this season.
Defenseman Francois Beauchemin has also shined with 5 assists straight out of the gate.
G Semyon Varlamov has allowed 8 goals this season, but did hold the Stars scoreless over the final 1.5 periods last time out.
