While the series now sits at 3-0, it certainly isn’t telling of how close it’s been.
The Flames have been tough luck losers in every game thus far, falling by one goal in each and the last coming in overtime in a big swing game.
Anaheim Ducks
Anaheim may have gotten away with a high-stick goal that could’ve changed the dynamic of the series. The Ducks now hold a three game advantage and need just one more win in the next four games to advance.

Shea Theodore has looked excellent in his NHL playoff debut, now leading the Ducks with two goals and five points.
The former top prospect has helped Duck fans forget about the injuries to key defenseman, namely Cam Fowler.
It wasn’t a goaltending duo to write home about in game 3, seeing a 5-4 OT win for Anaheim and their starter, John Gibson, get pulled halfway through the second period after allowing four goals on 16 shots.
He’s likely to be given the opportunity to make amends in game 4.
Calgary Flames
Forgive me if this sounds repetitive, but yet another tough loss to swallow for the Flames’ in the series. Calgary held a three-goal lead entering the final minute of the second period, before a Shea Theodore goal at 19:11 drew the Ducks within two.
The dreaded two-goal lead was not able to be held, though one of the goals appeared to be a high-stick, and the Flames blew the advantage and lost in overtime.
They will have to win four straight against the best team in the Pacific Division, a feat that has rarely been accomplished.

It will take a magnificent team effort to inch their way back in the series, starting with a win in game 4.
Brian Elliott will need to be virtually unbeatable from here on out, but the Flames’ will just try to take it one game at a time starting here.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Calgary 24-17-1 this year at home
- The over is 8-1-3 in Calgary’s last 12 home games
- Calgary are 8-3 in their last 11 games as the favorite
- Shea Theodore leads all defensemen in playoff points with 5.
- Anaheim is 19-7 over their past 26 games
- Anaheim is 18-15-9 on the road this year
Free Anaheim Ducks vs Calgary Flames NHL Playoff Prediction:
The Flames may have deserved a better fate in game 3, considering they outplayed the Ducks for the majority of the game and may have been on the short-end of a Ducks’ goal review. It will be a difficult road for Calgary to claw their way back into the series, but don’t expect them to rollover.
Glen Gulutzan will certainly be reminding his team that with a bounce here or there, that their team could easily be ahead in the series and not behind 3-0.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Calgary -106
I like the Flames’ to extend the series to head back to Anaheim for game 5.
