The St. Louis Rams come into this divisional showdown off a convincing win over the Cleveland Browns, while the San Francisco 49ers were bludgeoned at home on national television.

Kick off is set for 1:00 PM ET as these two NFC West rivals square off in the Midwest.
San Francisco 49ers
Things have gone from bad to worse for the San Francisco 49ers this season, though this should not be a surprise to anyone.
That’s what happens when you have a general manager and an owner who put their egos in front of everything else, and the end result was losing Jim Harbaugh and replacing him with a ‘yes man’ in Jim Tomsula.
Colin Kaepernick has regressed terribly since last season, and now reports are surfacing that he’s on an island by himself in the locker room. That’s not good.
The 49ers as a team are struggling offensively, as their 14.9 points per game ranks dead last in the NFL.
It should be noted that the 49ers have scored less than 10 points in three games this season.

To make matters worse, the defense has been just as bad as the offense. What used to be a phenomenal defense has turned into an outright sham. San Francisco is one of only four teams to allow more than 400 yards per game on average, and its 6.1 yards per play average allowed ranks 30th in the NFL.
The 49ers offense is awful, and the defense isn’t much better. Everybody knew this was coming, but their fall from grace, which was publicized so much, has been difficult to watch.
St. Louis Rams
St. Louis took care of business at home against a dog-tired Cleveland Browns team in Week 7 thanks to a stellar performance by rookie running back Todd Gurley, and the defense as a whole. Fortunately for the Rams, they were in a terrific spot last week off a bye and covered the 7-point spread easily.

Unfortunately, the Rams still possess one of the league’s worst passing attacks, so the 49ers should know what to expect on Sunday. Though the 49ers looked terrible against the Seattle Seahawks, they’ve done historically well against the Rams over the last few years.
San Francisco has outscored St. Louis 79-44 in St. Louis since 2012.
I know Harbaugh was coaching the team then, but teams typically play each other harder when it’s within the division. The Rams played the Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals both extremely hard this year, winning both games by a combined 5 points.
The Rams have been forced to get it done through their defense, because their 18 points per game is 31st in the NFL, just ahead of San Francisco.
NFL Betting Trends:
- 49ers are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games.
- 49ers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.
- Rams are 3-6 ATS in their last 9 games.
- Rams are 7-16-2 ATS in their last 25 games against the 49ers.
- Rams are 2-6 SU in their last 8 games against the 49ers.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: 49ers +8.5
This is a bad spot for the Rams. They looked great against the Browns last week, and the 49ers looked terrible against the Seahawks. However, San Francisco will have an extra three days off to prepare for this game, and I think the 49ers will bounce back against St. Louis to save face.
The 49ers won’t win, but the game will be closer than the numbers indicate.
NFL Free Score Prediction: St. Louis 20- San Francisco 17
The 49ers will come out much stronger after being embarrassed on national TV, though the Rams squeak out a hard-fought divisional battle to move to 4-3.
