The Steelers bounced back from an opening week loss against the Patriots by whipping on the 49ers. They scored 43 points and their offense isn’t even whole yet.

St. Louis followed up their opening week win over Seattle with one of the most confusing performances of the day in a loss to Washington. Does this team want to be good or not?
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have split their two games without wrecking ball running back LeVeon Bell. In his stead DeAngelo Williams was more than serviceable but they have to be excited to get their primary weapon back.
Even without Bell the Steelers proved to be able to move the ball well. Antonio Brown keeps proving that you don’t have to be 6’3″ to be an elite wideout as he is basically uncoverable most of the time thanks to flawless technique.
The key on offense this wee will be giving Big Ben the time he needs. The Rams at their best are a sack machine.

On defense I still don’t like Pittsburgh’s personnel much but they were pretty good last week. You have to ignore the yards the 49ers put up because most of that was in garbage time.
Pittsburgh can definitely get a road victory on Sunday.
St. Louis
The Rams might have gotten some comfort from Seattle’s loss last night but there is no question they blew an opportunity against Washington over the weekend. The NFC West is still one of the toughest divisions in the NFL.
I don’t know if it was overconfidence after beating the Seahawks or what but the Rams put up a stinker on Sunday.
Their normally reliable defense couldn’t stop the run, creating few situations where their awesome pass rush could get after Kirk Cousins.

The offense was pitiful too. Tre Mason was back but he got half of his 26 yards on one carry and the Rams gave up on the run game a little too soon for a team that does not have much going in the passing game.
I loved it when this team selected Todd Gurley in the first round this season but it kind of feels like they are waiting for him to arrive and save the day, which is dangerous.
The Rams are at home and if they play well they can make things very uncomfortable for the Steelers.
Through, two games it is hard to tell whether they have really addressed any of their shortcomings though.

This one is coming down to trust. I feel confident I know what the Steelers are. They aren’t world beaters but I know what I am going to get and they will score enough points to get the road victory.
