The Jets got the better of the New York battle last time these two teams met, but the Giants will be eager to notch their first preseason win this Saturday.
The Giants were over-matched against the Bills last week and failed to score a point, but they held Buffalo scoreless for three of the four quarters and they will take some confidence out of that.

The Jets couldn’t back up their first preseason win against Washington last week, but it was a tight game and there were plenty of good signs in the passing game.
Although it’s only a preseason game, it’s shaping up as a closely fought contest and the winner will get the home-town bragging rights heading into the regular season.
New York Giants
The biggest problem for the Giants this preseason has been at the quarterback position.
Two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning has been far from impressive and after going only 4/9 for 44 yards against the Bills, a much better performance will be needed.
The Giants didn’t get much help from backup QB Ryan Nassib who went 2/12 for 25 yards in a dismal display which included getting sacked twice. Expect to see less of Nassib and more of Manning this week against the Jets.

The good news is that Victor Cruz has been training the house down and is confident about taking part in this game. Cruz hasn’t seen action for awhile now and will need to shake off the rust, but his inclusion will add to the excitement of this game.
Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. caught one pass for 22 yards last week and any involvement from him will increase the Giants’ chances of winning.
The Giants were forced to punt on eight occasions against the Bills, but they gave up all their points in the second quarter (21) and didn’t allow a point in the second half.
The defense for the most part was clicking, but we’ll need to see some more offensive production on Saturday.
N.Y. Jets
Geno Smith had one of the lowest quarterback ratings of 23.6 last week, but don’t expect the Jets backup quarterback to lay down quietly.
Smith battled for 6/13 completed passed for only 47 yards, but he’s a fighter and we think he could make amends this week.
To say fellow QB Bryce Petty had a better game isn’t entirely accurate. Petty went 16/26 with a rating of 117.8, but got sacked on three occasions.
With Ryan Fitzpatrick getting limited game time, the Jets will need to decide whether they want a dual-threat quarterback like Smith, who can escape the pocket, or Petty who will likely stand and deliver.

There wasn’t much running game to talk about against the Redskins, but the receivers did their job, making 324 yards on 26 completed catches.
The best was clearly Robby Anderson who caught six receptions for 131 yards and one touchdown. The 23-year-old rookie out of Temple is fighting for a starting spot with the Jets and last week helped his case significantly.
The Jets are well-positioned this season if they do the little things right.
NFL Betting Trends:

Free NFL Betting Prediction: Jets +2.5
We think bookmakers are predicting a Giants win because they have yet to win this preseason, but a lack of form is hardly anything to go on.
The Jets are the best team between these two sides at this stage of the season and with an improved quarterback effort this week, they will be tough to slow down on the offensive front.
The Giants are finding it difficult to score points and that’s no way to win football games.
