The Saints and Panthers meet in a game that features a classic “both teams moving in opposite directions” clash.
The Panthers have started off hot going 2-0 after their win over Houston last week.

As for the Saints, Brees and company are reeling right now as they dropped a 26-19 decision in Week 2 at home to Tampa Bay.
Kick off is set for 1:00 PM EST on FOX.
New Orleans
The Saints play thus far through the first two weeks can be described with just about any negative adjective. Drew Brees and company are picking up right where they left off from last year’s abysmal play and that was shown in their loss to Tampa at home last week.
The typically high powered, high scoring offense has failed to hit the 20 point mark in both weeks. That marks the first time since 2013 that the Saints have not produced at least 1 20 point game in back-to-back weeks.

To make matters worse, QB Drew Brees is now questionable for the Week 3 matchup against Carolina. In the loss, Brees was knocked to the ground and injured his shoulder.
Should he not be able to go, Luke McCown will be the listed starter.
Regardless of the QB situation, the run game will have to figure itself out too. They’ve averaged just a hair over 3 yards per carry this season, which has forced them into some passing downs and put a lot of pressure on Brees.
The defense is also a mess as they have given up 259 yards combined through the first 2 contests.
Carolina Panthers
Two straight AFC South Champ have begun their quest for a 3-peat in the perfect way as they are 2-0 and riding high.
QB Cam Newton once again shined as he threw for a pair of touchdowns and rushed for another in the 24-17 win. In total, Newton threw for 195 yards and rushed for 76.

The more impressive feat comes from the fact that Newton really doesn’t have any standout receivers to work with.
After Benjamin went down in the preseason, Newton was left with the likes of Ted Ginn Jr. and Phily Brown.
Both receivers caught a touchdown in Week 2 and look to be improving at rapid rates with Newton throwing to them.
RB Jonathan Stewart will look to get himself going as he’s been a struggle this season. Averaging only 3 yards per carry, Stewart has made the Panthers run game irrelevant unless it’s Newton rushing the ball.
