The Cards have to be surprised that this has turned into a must win so early in the season but a home loss to the Rams would give them a huge edge in the NFC West after the first month.
The Rams still have a lot of work to do but they are leading the division and things are getting better, at least on offense after a dreadful start.
Kick off is set for 4:25 PM ET with Carson Palmer looking to lead his Cards back to respectability after getting hammered by Buffalo last week in one of the week’s most surprising results.
If Arizona was overrated coming into the season we will confirm it soon.
Los Angeles Rams
Things could not have gone worse for the Rams in their debut but with back to back wins they are showing that they are more of an aberration.
They still have lots of room to improve but at least now they look like a team.
Through three games L.A. has yet to put forth an effort where both the offense and defense has performed.
Last week it was the offense, led by much maligned QB Case Keenum. I have to think that after their next loss we might see top pick Jared Goff.
No matter who is running the offense Todd Gurley is the top weapon. After two bad games he was average last week. At least that is trending up.
Los Angeles is suppose to have a good defense but it didn’t look like it last week when they were shredded by Jameis Winston in a win. Carson Palmer has similar weapons and more experience to exploit them.
This is another game they will be looking to pound away with the running game.
If it is not effective it could be a long afternoon in the desert
The Cards have been favoured in three straight games to start the season and have only won one, the most recent disappointment being at Buffalo on Sunday.
Some thought they might be the best team in the NFC this season but we have not seen the same team as a year ago.
Carson Palmer has not been sharp to start the season – he already has four interceptions after throwing just 11 a year ago when the offense was humming.
The bright spot on offense has been RB David Johnston, who has picked up where he left off a year ago as one of the top running/receiving threats out of the backfield.
Larry Fitzgerald is showing no age with 20 catches including three TDs thus far.
Arizona has the kind of pass rush that should worry any opponent. Bookend lineman Chandler Jones and Markus Golden each have a sack in every game this season.
The defense is making plays but they seem to be unable to make those critical ones when the games hang in the balance.
Against New England they couldn’t come through and last week against Buffalo they allowed to many explosive plays by the Bills.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Over 43.5
I am looking for Arizona to get their offense back on track at home. Two weeks ago vs. Tampa they scored 40 points. That defense is not as good as the Rams but they should be able to move the ball.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Arziona 31 – Los Angeles 21
Arizona really needs a good performance and a win and I am confident Bruce Arians will have his guys ready to go, otherwise the season starts to look a little bleak.
The line is solid but the total looks better.
