Week five action in the NFL will feature an all Florida matchup between the Jags and Bucs. Both teams sport 1-3 records and young quarterbacks manning the offenses.
Blake Bortles will take the snaps for Jacksonville while Jameis Winston will be under centre for the Bucs.
By all accounts the Jags have not been bad to this point and the fact that they are the underdogs in this one is a bit confusing. Jacksonville was crushed by the Patriots, but played a tough game against a good Carolina team and were beaten by three on the road by a desperate Colts team.
The key in this one is taking care of the ball and Bortles has been much better this year with just three picks in four games against six touchdown passes.
The pass attack has been solid so far as Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns have been a great pairing at wideout, averaging 155 yards per game between the two and have hauled in four TDs.
The run game has been anything but spectacular, and at 104.5 yards per game on the ground the Jags rank 18th in the NFL.
The yards have been there in terms of total offense as the Jags have put up nearly 350 yards per game, but that has not translated into points as Jacksonville is averaging a mere 15.5 points per game, good enough for 31st in the league.
The defense has been soft as well, allowing opponents to convert on nearly 51% of third downs, which is worst in the league.
Thankfully the Jags are up against a Bucs team that converts at just a 30.4% rate on third down and rank 29th in the NFL in that category.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rookie QB and first overall pick Jameis Winston has been taking his lumps throwing seven interceptions in his first four NFL starts. He has matched Bortles’ total of six touchdown passes, but the turnovers have been a killer early on this season.
Tampa has lost games to some pretty unimpressive teams, with Houston and Tennessee getting their only wins against the Bucs. The AFC South has been a tough go for the Bucs so far this season at 0-2 against the division.
Offensively the Bucs match up fairly evenly with Jacksonville and this game should be closely contested as neither scores potently but neither defense is spectacular.
Winston is going to have to take care of the ball in this one as it will likely come down to who blinks in the turnover game.
Winston is not without his weapons on offense either as Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans provide a great one-two punch through the air, but Doug Martin has been kept pretty quiet thus far and Jacksonville is allowing just 83 yards per game on the ground.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Jacksonville +2.5
A QB with a bit more experience in Bortles going up against a pretty soft defense should prove fruitful for the Jags this week as this won’t be a shootout but the Jags’ ability to move the ball through the air will pull out the win.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Jacksonville 24 – Tampa Bay 20
A back and forth tilt will be settled in the fourth quarter with the home team coming out victorious thanks to a late game TD.
