Nothing like a division game to start the season, especially in the NFC North.
The Packers have been in the news thanks to injuries and I am sure they are looking forward to hitting somebody, the Bears are as good a target as any.

First last, last week or anywhere in between these teams want to beat each other.
Green Bay
Even down their top receiver for the season the Packers are still the favourite to win the NFC North.
They can prove that is not a misguided perception with a road win over Chicago to start the season on Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers is still probably the best quarterback in the NFL and he has more than a few weapons around him to make the Packers one of the most effective offenses in the league.
On defense I am interested to see just what the Packers will be. They have a few playmakers but mostly this is a solid group.
With the Bears likely to be a little more ground heavy this season that may or may not play into the hands of the Packers. It remains to be seen.

Given the injuries and the fact this game is on the road I am a little surprised the spread is not closer to 3.5. It is almost like they are daring you to take the Packers.
They won and covered in both games last season, three in a row and eight of nine. In short, they have been owning the bears lately.
Chicago
The Bears are looking to move in a different direction this season. They have changed the coach and philosophy but with the same quarterback at the helm it might be more difficult than they think.
Jay Cutler is who is he is. There is no doubting his arm or his ego but the truth is he is not a winner.
This season they have shuffled the deck a bit for him in trading Brandon Marshall but his replacement, rookie Kevin White is hurt.
They want to emphasize the run but they also might not have a choice.

The Bears have definitely lost the defensive identity that seemed to personify their best teams. Gone this year are mainstays in Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman but coach John Fox is a defense first guy.
Jared Allen may be on his last legs so I am not sure who is going to bring the heat. Without it there will be a lot of pressure on the secondary, which is probably the best unit on the team.
The Bears are looking to show that they have changed direction this season.
A win over the Packers would certainly do that but it is a tall order in week 1.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Green Bay -6
I know the Packers are missing a key cog but the Bears are trying to be something new this season and that takes time. Plus they have been so bad against Green Bay of late. That stuff can linger.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Green Bay 28 – Chicago 19
Finishing drives with TDs is going to be the difference here. Rodgers vs. Cutler isn’t exactly fair.
