Detroit comes in losers of two in a row while the Saints snapped a 4 game winning streak last week with their win over Tampa Bay 24-17.
The Saints must certainly win out here and hope for a lot of help along the way to grab a wild card spot.
Detroit
The Lions have the weapons to be a good team in the NFL, but their slow start to the season really buried them this year.
Now, after running off three straight wins to get back into things, the Lions have gone back to their losing ways and have dropped two in a row.
Detroit has showed too many signs of inconsistencies and their lack of run game has helped no cause.

Last Sunday was just another rendition of that as the Lions run game was non existent and QB Matthew Stafford struggled. Stafford was sacked 4 times and threw for an interception. On the season, Stafford has thrown 13 interceptions, which is something he hasn’t done in the past.
Defensively here, the Lions hold a bit of an advantage. They are going up against a hot QB in Drew Brees, but they hold one of the best passing defenses in the league. Detroit is allowing just 232.6 yards passing against per game, which sits 8th in the league.
Detroit is 2-4 ATS in their last 6 road games.
New Orleans
Drew Brees can be blamed for a lot of the Saints problems this season, but recently, he’s stepped it up tremendously.
Brees has tossed for 5 touchdowns combined in the last 2 games and led New Orleans to a 24-17 win over Tampa Bay last week. Brees capped a phenomenal game with 2 touchdowns to WR Marques Colston as he threw for 312 yards on the day.

WR Willie Snead has been the wild card all year long for the Saints and his performance against Tampa Bay was another solid showing. Snead had 7 receptions for 122 yards as he continues to be the main target for Brees.
Defensively, the Saints have been brutal. They rank last in the NFL in just about every category, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have difference makers that can make big plays. Cameron Jordan leads the way on this side of the ball with 8 sacks on the season.
NFL Betting Trends:

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Saints ATS
The Saints at home is always a safe bet. Even with such a bad defense, they should be able to contain the weak Lions run game and force Stafford into some tough passes.
