Both of these teams are coming off losses. The Vikings get to lick their wounds at home but Detroit is on the road, again as a three point underdog. Can they come through this time.

Minnesota was getting a lot of pub heading into Monday night when they laid an egg. I am not sure what their real potential is.
Detroit
The Lions suffered a painful loss to start the season on Sunday.
Painful because they came roaring out of the game but then collapsed in the second half, squandering an 11 point lead against San Diego.
They were not favorites in the game but this group has always had trouble closing out teams so it wasn’t a good sign. Matt Stafford has to play more clean and they need to do a better job getting the ball to Megatron.

This is a big game as it is the first division game of the season for both clubs. If Detroit can finish their road swing to start the season even than they can build on that. An 0-2 start will have many wondering about whether they can survive their offseason defections.
Minnesota
The line moved a ton in favor of the Vikings in this one and their backers got stung. Not only did they lose the opener it never really felt like they were in the game…and San Fran was supposed to be bad right?
With Adrian Peterson back in the fold and an emerging Teddy Bridgewater the Vikes were supposed to have a sneaky offense. We didn’t see it on Monday.
Peterson was stuffed all night long and Bridgewater did nothing to loosen things up for him. This week’s Lions defense might prove a little easier to penetrate.

I am not sure the Lions can take advantage but if I were Minnesota I would be worried about the fact that they gave up a ton of yards on the ground to San Francisco.
Even if things break well for this team the defense is going to have to pull its own weight. The offense is not going to be able to carry them.
Minnesota lost both games against the Lions last season and both of them came in under the total. Going under looks like a strong possibility on Sunday.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss.
- Lions are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in September.
- Lions are 10-23-1 ATS in their last 34 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
- Vikings are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
- Vikings are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games following a S.U. loss.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Minnesota -3
I am still not sold on the Vikings but I think they will be a lot better than they were last week and I want to take advantage of that. At home look for more on both sides of the ball. Not domination but more. Get this one at -3 or better.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Minnesota 24 – Detroit 17
I am not writing off the Lions just yet but this looks like a bad spot, on the road again and in the division against a team off a bad loss. The following week they will probably be play on unless Stafford gets hurt.
