If one had to guess which QB had more passing touchdowns in Week 1 between Peyton Manning and Alex Smith, 9 out of 10 would probably say Peyton Manning. That wasn’t the case as Manning struggled and Smith shined, but all that matters is both teams come into this Thursday night matchup 1-0.
The visitors from Denver used a late interception as the Ravens were driving in the red zone to seal a 19-13 defensive struggle.

For the Chiefs, they used their steady offensive play to grab a 27-20 road win over the Houston Texans in Week 1.
Both teams look to get to 2-0 as they are highlight on Thursday Night Football on CBS.
Denver Broncos
The name “Peyton Manning” and the word “touchdown” typically go hand in hand. That wasn’t the case on Sunday in Week 1 as Manning failed to throw for a touchdown and threw a pick six, but the Broncos still found a way to grab a 19-13 win.
The defense played the biggest role with a game winning pick six themselves and an interception in the red zone with less then a minute left to seal the win.
Head Coach Gary Kubiak got his Denver tenure off with a win, which is most important, but both the run and pass games looked weak.

Known for his slick running attacks in the past, Kubiak’s run game served very little in Week 1 as the team ran for a combined 69 yards.
RB Ronnie Hillman, who is the #2 on the depth chart, ran for 41 yards to lead the way. RB CJ Anderson, who is the starter, ran for only 29 yards on the same amount of carries as Hillman.
Manning finished 24 of 40 with an interception to go along with 175 yards.
Kansas City Chiefs
If scoring 27 points wasn’t a surprise enough, having a receiver not catch one of the three touchdown passes is something else.
TE Travel Kelce had 2 of those touchdown receptions on 6 catches for 106 yards. Catching the other touchdown was RB Jamaal Charles.
To go along with his touchdown reception, the RB ran for 57 yards on 16 carries.

While the receivers didn’t need to do anything in Week 1, they were the biggest question mark coming into this season. WR Jeremy Maclin had 5 receptions for only 52 yards and will be a major key to this offense going forward.
Defensively, the Chiefs did have 4 sacks as a team, but they saw the Texans rack up 396 yards off total offense in the game.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Denver ATS
The Broncos offense couldn’t have played any worse in Week 1. Thursday is a key game in the sense that Manning has to find his early 2014 rhythm again. He’s true veteran and should be able to recover from that poor outing in Week 1.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Denver 31- Kansas City 20
Denver goes to 2-0 behind Manning’s superb performance.
