Denver saw Peyton Manning out last season with an epic win and now will look to make things worse on the Panthers with a win on opening night in front of a capacity crowd.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers nearly put an undefeated season together and ran through every team in the NFC Playoffs last season.
However, when it came to the Superbowl, they stood no chance against the Broncos defense. They’ll see a familiar defense once again, as Cam Newton is all business heading into this season.

Last season, WR Kelvin Benjamin went down in training camp and missed the entire season. He’s back and the clear number 1 on the depth, but that doesn’t mean you won’t see less production from the rest of the wide out crew.
Newton developed plenty of chemistry with Ted Ginn Jr. and Philly Brown, both out of Ohio State, and with Greg Olsen being one of the best tight ends in football, the air attack will be a legit threat for Carolina this season.
Look for Carolina to take shots down field with their air attack, especially if Newton and Jonathan Stewart can open the run game early to keep the defense on their heels.
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos sent Peyton Manning out last year the only way he knows how, a winner.
Denver will look to defend their Superbowl title here in 2016, but the title defense is going to be one of the hardest ones in the history of the NFL.
Peyton Manning is now retired and Brock Osweiler got paid this past offseason, leaving the Broncos with a QB battle prior to the season. Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian battled it out, ultimately it was Siemian who got the job.

With an unproven QB, the Broncos will rely heavily on their top receiver to make plays and their run game.
WR Demaryius Thomas will be asked to do a lot offensively, as he’ll have to make plays deep down field to help Siemian get settled in.
Running wise, CJ Anderson and Ronnie Hillman will both share the load again, a duo that proved to be vital in the Broncos Superbowl run last season.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Panthers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games on grass.
- Panthers are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
- Panthers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 1.

- Broncos are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games in September.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Denver Broncos ATS
While it’s tough to back an unproven QB, there is a couple factors here.
With the sell out crowd rocking, Denver’s offense can feed off of that. Defensively, the Broncos showed just how good they were last year and shouldn’t expect anything to change heading into this one.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Denver 24 – Carolina 20
Look for the Broncos defense to make life difficult again for Newton, as Denver grabs this one outright.
