Injuries, drama, demotions. Three words that really describe what has unfolded for this game.
Baltimore
Baltimore was so close to the AFC Championship game last season and made a vow to get back there and finish business this time.
At 3-8, they’re now looking at competing for the top draft pick in next year’s draft. Baltimore has been miserable on both sides of the ball this season and on one of the last plays of the game against St. Louis things got even worse for them.
QB Joe Flacco tore his achilles and will be out the remainder of the season. That means we’ll get to see Matt Schaub for this one.

Joe Flacco just adds to the giant list of injuries Baltimore has had this season, which includes star running back Justin Forsett who is also out for the season.
Looking at Matt Schaub, he hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since the 2013 season. While his resume is filled with a lot of accomplishments, he is certainly well above his prime. The good news for Schaub is that he has zero pressure on him and will be go up against a pass defense that allows 263.6 yards per game.
Cleveland
It’s no secret, the Cleveland Browns are an absolute disaster right now. This was a prime chance to see what QB Johnny Manziel could do and if he could be the future of the Browns or not.
However, after videos surfaced of Manziel partying in Texas during he team’s bye week, head coach Mike Pettine decided to “demote” Manziel to 3rd string. There is a very good case to be made that Manziel will no long play another snap in a Browns uniform.

With Manziel demoted, the ball will be given back to Luke McCown. The veteran who was signed to a 3 year deal in the offseason started back in Week 4 when the Browns defeated the Ravens in Baltimore.
McCown finished 36 of 51 for 457 yards and threw for 2 touchdowns in one of his best performances of his career. Expect McCown to look for TE Gary Barnidge, who had a stellar game in that win.
Barnidge finished with 8 receptions for 139 yards and caught a touchdown that was gathered in between his legs.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Ravens are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games in Week 12.
- Ravens are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a bye week.
- Ravens are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win.
- Browns are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
- Browns are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Baltimore ATS
Two bad teams set us up for one of the poorer Monday Night games in quite some time. Still, McCown hasn’t been all that bad in his starting time with the Browns and if he can play the way he did against them in Week 5, look out.
Still, with two bad teams like this, grabbing the points is the best way to go.
