Well that was a fun opening weekend, wasn’t it?
Aside from two Monday Night Football blowouts all other games part of Week 1 were relatively entertaining.
Two teams involved in perhaps the most entertaining games of the weekend were the Atlanta Falcons and Oakland Raiders, with the Falcons falling to the Buccaneers and the Raiders overpowering the Saints on a gutsy 2-point conversion.
The two will now head to the black hole that is Oakland Coliseum for a Week 2 matchup that should be just as equally entertaining as their respective Week 1 games were.

Kickoff is slated for 4:25 PM EST and this one should be a fun offensive slugfest.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons showed some promise and disgust in a Week 1 loss to Tampa Bay.
On the one hand Atlanta showed that Matt Ryan can still be a star and is more than capable of leading the Falcons to yet another postseason berth, as the veteran threw for 322 yards and two TDs.
However, after a breakout season in 2015 Devontae Freeman was bottled up on Sunday and vastly limited in the running game. In fact, Atlanta’s rushing attack amassed just 52 yards on the ground in a less than stellar performance.

Defensively the Falcons were also suspect, giving up 31 points to a Tampa Bay team that should still be trying to sort out some identity issues on the offensive side of the ball.
Overall Atlanta’s performance on Sunday wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t the greatest way to kickoff their 2016 campaign.
Matt Ryan is going to need to have some gaudy numbers in Oakland should the Falcons hope to come away with a win.
Oakland Raiders
Though the Raiders have been the butt of many-a-joke in recent seasons a revitalized and young roster have given them reason for hope in 2016.
After showing some promise with Derek Carr and Amari Cooper in 2015 the Raiders came out with an emphatic win over the New Orleans Saints on what could be a defining play of Oakland’s season.
After scoring a TD to pull within one of the Falcons the Raiders decided to make an early 2016 statement by going for two and successfully converting, capping a furious fourth quarter that saw them put up 22 points.
Leading the offensive effort was Derek Carr and Amari Cooper, which should be no surprise. Carr was 24 of 38 for 319 yards and a TD while Cooper hauled in six passes for 137 yards.
The only problem the Raiders seemed to have on Sunday was a big one, especially when looking ahead to the Falcons. Drew Brees absolutely torched Oakland’s secondary en route to 419 in the air.
If the Raiders hope to come away with a win in Week 2, they’ll need to vastly improve their pass defense.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Over 49
Though Oakland has a tenacious front seven their pass defense is suspect and the Falcons have shown they can still put points on the board in bunches.
On the other side of the ball the Falcons are still struggling to find a defensive identity and the Raiders have the firepower to match Atlanta’s attack.
Look for this to be a high-scoring affair.
If you like watching offenses trading blows tune into this one. With Derek Carr leading the Raiders and Matt Ryan still in prime form for the Falcons, this will be one high-scoring slugfest.
While the backs may leave a little to be desired, the likes of Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, and Julio Jones will make this matchup a fun one.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Atlanta 31 – Oakland 27
Oakland is improving and will be able to make a push for the playoffs this season but the Falcons’ passing attack will be just too much for a suspect secondary that gave up 419 yards to Drew Brees and the Saints in Week 1.
It will be another close game that the Falcons come away with in the end.
