2016 Rams Roster Changes
You can’t make 2016 Los Angeles Rams predictions without examining roster changes. The offseason departures include TE Jared Cook, DE Chris Long, DT Nick Fairley, ILB James Laurinaitis, CB Janoris Jenkins, S Rodney McLeod while the Additions include DE Quinton Coples, DT Dominique Easley and CB Coty Sensabaugh.
The Rams have seemingly put all their eggs in one basket – QB Jared Goff was drafted as a savior for the franchise but he looks like a dart-throw at this point.
So will the Rams improve in 2016?
Let’s break it down.
2016 Los Angeles Rams Predictions: Offense
There isn’t a whole lot to like about the Los Angeles offense heading into 2016 but they do have the terrific Todd Gurley who is projected to be a top 5, maybe top 3 RB in the NFL this season.

He rushed for 1106 yards and 10 TDs last year despite not being fully healthy. He is an absolute Stud that represents the only thing in LA to be excited about.
The passing game WILL struggle – Jared Goff is at best a prospect whole physical attributes and game-experience doesn’t seem to quite translate to the NFL game.
The fact is that he’s small and his college systems were second or third-rate – he will take some time to assimilate to the pro game.
Adding to LA’s passing issues are the fact that Goff will be relying of the colossally underwhelming Tavon Austin, the awful Kenny Britt and the average Brian Quick.
Jared Cook is gone and he’s been replaced by first-year player Tyler Higbee who may already face suspension after an assault charge before he was drafted.

Do you want more issues?
How about the O-line? Second overall pick from 2014 Greg Robinson has been brutal in his career, Center Tim Barnes and right guard Jamon Brown have been equally as bad and Rodger Staffold is an injury waiting to happen.
The Rams weren’t a good offense last year and could be a whole lot worse this upcoming season – not good. LA will have to rely on defense to even be competitive and I’m not sure that we can be optimistic of that
2016 Los Angeles Rams Predictions: Defense
The biggest problem with the Los Angeles defense is the losses they endured in the offseason.
Gone are their best cornerback Janoris Jenkins, Safety Rodney McLeod, Linemen Chris Long and Nick Fairley and linebacker James Laurinaitis – all five are quality players and will be sorely missed.
The Rams filled the holes with second-rate guys – Quinton Coples is about the best of the lot but he is seen more as a depth guy rather than a legitimate starter.
The Rams still have Aaron Donald and All-Pro Robert Quinn but the draft class and the offseason acquisition will ensure a major step backward on defense for the Rams.
2016 Los Angeles Rams Analysis:
Los Angeles figures to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this upcoming season. There are no parts of this team that, on paper, that are in the top half of the NFL.
Jared Goff will struggle, the underwhelming defense will be on the field a ton and the lack of true playmakers should ensure that the Rams are in prime position for a top pick next year (a pick that they traded to the Titans anyway!!!!).

It will be ugly in LA this year. I hope the fan-base isn’t scared away off the bat!
LA is a 4-14 team in 2016 – last in the NFC West.
