While the Jags may still not be a playoff team, they are certainly on the right track.
This team showed great promise on offense already, but they augmented the existing talent by adding veterans at running back and left tackle with Chris Ivory and Kelvin Beachum respectively.

The real reason the Jags may have won the offseason was on the other side of the ball. The most important addition was Super Bowl champion Malik Jackson who will give them a disruptive force up the middle on the defensive line.
His versatility as an edge rusher and a run stopper should have Gus Bradley salivating as the season approaches.
In addition to Beasley, Price Amukamara should add some experience in the secondary and solidify the depth at cornerback.
From the college ranks Jalen Ramsey appears to be a no-doubt Pro Bowl level cornerback that can make an immediate impact and Myles Jack was easily the highest risk / high reward choice of the entire draft.
Had he had a clean bill of health he likely would have been a top 5 pick, but fell to the Jags due to concerns about his knee.
They also will benefit from the presence of Dante Fowler, last year’s 3rd overall pick, who was unable to suit up at all due to a knee injury of his own.
While it still feels like their another year away, fans in Jacksonville finally have a reason to get exicted about football again.
2016 AFC South Predictions: Houston Texans
Texans Odds to Win 2016 Super Bowl: +5500
Texans Odds to Win 2016 AFC Conference: +2500
Texans Odds to Win 2016 AFC East Division: +250
It took the Texans 12 years before they made the playoffs for the first time, but now they look to have a good hold on the division for the next couple of seasons.
After once again winning the AFC South last year they went out and got themselves a couple of shiny toys on offense. Lamar Miller is finally about to be unleashed after escaping Miami and could be primed for a breakout season as a feature back.
More importantly though, after struggling to maintain any semblance of consistency at QB through their history, they opened up their checkbook to get their man in Brock Osweiller.
He looked good in flashes for Denver last year, but whether he’s the real deal or benefitted from a small sample size and elite defense remains to be seen.
This is the kind of signing that can really set a franchise back if not properly evaluated by team scouts.
Osweiller aside, the Texans have one of the best wide receivers in the league in DeAndre Hopkins as well as the one of the most dominant defensive forces the NFL has ever seen in J.J. Watt.
This looks like the team to beat among a sea of mediocrity in the AFC South.
2016 AFC South Predictions: Tennessee Titans
Titans Odds to Win 2016 Super Bowl: +10000
Titans Odds to Win 2016 AFC Conference: +5000
Titans Odds to Win 2016 AFC East Division: +700
The Titans made their most important addition last season when they finally landed a franchise quarterback in the talented Marcus Mariota.
The goal of this offseason was clear: surround him with weapons. They added one of last year’s most sought after running backs in DeMarco Murray after a disappointing first season in Philly as well as poaching underrated WR Rishard Matthews from the Dolphins.

They also solidified their offensive line through both free agency and the draft, adding starters at Center and Left Tackle.
The defense still remains one of the more underwhelming units in the conference and it will hold them back all season.
I will give them points for executing their vision well by giving their future marquee player the tools to succeed, but this appears to be another developmental year for the Titans, who will likely look to build their defense next offseason.
2016 AFC South Predictions: Indianapolis Colts
Colts Odds to Win 2016 Super Bowl: +2500
Colts Odds to Win 2016 AFC Conference: +1200
Colts Odds to Win 2016 AFC East Division: +170
Let’s start with the good: the Colts have Andrew Luck. Andrew Luck is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and still has room to improve. Andrew Luck has proven capable of getting this team to the playoffs with an underwhelming supporting cast.
Then the bad: this team doesn’t have a whole lot outside of Andrew Luck. Vonte Davis and Jerrell Freeman are excellent defenders and valuable anchors, but this unit has little to no depth.
The defensive line should allow opposing QB’s all the time they need to complete their reads and their safety depth is nearly as bad.

Things aren’t much better on offense where T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief provide stability, but have little else in the way of help.
Indy will need 16 games from Luck and a lot of things to go their way to sniff the playoffs with this group.
Cappers Picks 2016 AFC South Predictions
This is definitely the AFC’s most underwhelming division. Andrew Luck has shown the talent to lead the Colts to the playoffs but the Texans appear to be the divisions most well rounded team.
With new additions solidifying the Quarterback and Running Back positions and J.J Watt terrorizing every team he faces, I think Houston repeats as division champs.
