Two teams that are locks for March get set for battle as the Wisconsin Badgers head into Purdue for a Big 10 showdown.
Currently Wisconsin sits 1 game ahead of Purdue in the conference as they are 2 and 3 games back respectively.
Purdue got the better of the two in the matchup back on 12/29 in Wisconsin as they went on to win 61-55.
The Badgers have been deemed a lock to make the tournament and that has a lot to do with their play in the Big 10.
They sit in the middle of a cluster of ranked teams with a 12-5 record, which is good enough for a tie with Maryland for 3rd place. Wisconsin has won 4 straight games and with this being the final game, they can move up or down depending on the result.
Wisconsin has also had some success against Purdue despite losing in the last meeting. The Badgers have won 3 of 4 in this series and did come into this building and win back in 2014.
The Badgers haven’t been that bad of a road team, going 6-4 SU as they give up just 60 points per road game, which is one of the best in the conference.
Purdue has really stepped their game up at the right time.
They’ll attempt to win a school record in home games this year with a win over the Badgers. Purdue has gone 16-1 on the season and a 17th win would set that record. Dating back to last season, Purdue has won 22 of the last 23 at home.
Vince Edwards and A.J. Hammons continue to be the leaders of this team as they both come off strong performances. Edwards scored a team high 20 points while Hammons scored 16, with 12 coming in the 2nd half. Look for these two to really be difference makers here.
The Boilermakers hot shooting has become a trend as well. They’ve shot 50% or better in 3 straight games, which is the first time since 2012 that they’ve done that.

Free Wisconsin Badgers vs. Purdue Boilermakers CBB Prediction:
When these two teams meet, it’s always close. There is still something to play for in terms of seeding within March here. A win can push one of these teams up a seed or two as it would certainly booster their resume.
Look for the home court to play the advantage here. Purdue can send their seniors out on a win, while setting a school record for home wins.
This one is close, with Purdue holding on late.
