The Mountaineers are off to a great start and looking to bag an ACC victory before they start conference play.

The Hokies would gain even more if they could beat a ranked team as they try and prove themselves in the ACC and beyond.
West Virginia Mountaineers:
This is the last nonconference tilt for WVU in what has been a productive portion of the schedule. A couple of nice wins and just a lone loss to Virginia.
Key to their success has been the improved play of Devin Williams. He has always been a load in the post but this year he has upped his production to 16/9. I fully expect him to average a double-double in the B12 where his minutes will be stretched.
[dfads params=’groups=226&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
WVU is able to surround him with three perimeter threat who can stretch the floor. All three are averaging more than 10ppg and they contribute to the defensive intensity the team wants to play with.
Daxter Miles Jr, Jaaysean Paige and Jevon Carter are all sophomores too so this team could be good this year and great the next.
These teams have played each other the last three seasons. The home team has won every time with WVU losing at VT in a high scoring game a couple of years ago.
Virginia Tech:
Virginia Tech has had a pretty light schedule so far this season. Half of their 12 games have not even been lined. This is their last game before they start ACC play.
They will be looking to get in the win column but it won’t be easy taking on a team much higher up in the rankings than they are. A challenge they are used to due to their conference affiliation.
Forward Zach LeDay is going to have to battle with Williams. Their production has been similar but he is giving up some length.

Similar to WVU the Hokies have a trio of perimeter threat all averaging better than 10ppg.
Justin Bibbs stands out but that is only because he is nailing 61% of his three point attempts. He almost singlehandedly outscored Grambling when they played.
This would be a very good get for Virginia Tech but I doubt it is in the cards.
