When the Cyclones get Hilton rocking they can look like one of the best teams in America.
Iowa Hawkeyes:
This is a very experienced Iowa team looking to make a push with its current group of seniors. As such they could be a sleeper in the B10.
Now that Aaron White is gone Jared Uthoff has stepped up his scoring to 18ppg. He is shooting the ball really well to start the season.

Also off to a good start is center Adam Woodbury. His scoring and rebounding are up and he is important because the Hawkeyes do not have a lot of size in the middle. Or depth. They need him on the floor and productive.
Iowa has been building a good profile so far. Their two losses were on neutral sites to good teams and they have beaten the likes of Florida State and Wichita State, two teams I expect in the tournament.
In this annual series they have not fared well recently. Their last win was 2012 and they have lost seven of the last 10.
Iowa State Cyclones:
As they transition beyond Fred Hoiberg the Cyclones have gotten off to a good start, seven for seven, but they really haven’t played anyone of consequence yet.
With new coach Steve Prohm they do not appear to have made any changes to their style, scoring lots – they have been covering too at 5-1-1.
Georges Niang has been one of the most impressive players in the country so far. He has upped his scoring to 18ppg, after a season high 31 against Buffalo, and is shooting really well.
Monte Morris, who is more known for never turning the ball over is also scoring more without it affecting his ability to run the team much. He is in the top 10 in assists and has a ratio or better than 5/1 assists to turnovers.
Another guy in the Top 10 statistically is Jameel McKay. He is 10th in rebounding at 11.6 per contest and is averaging a double-double.

Iowa State scores a lot because they play at a good pace and know where there shots are coming from. Even though several players have increased their scoring they are not forcing it. They are shooting better than 51% as a team.
Quite simply their starting five is among the best in the nation.
CBB Betting Trends:
- Over is 7-2 in IOWA last 9 vs. Big 12.
- IOWA are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Thu. games.
- Over is 12-5-1 in IOWA last 18 Thu. games.
- Under is 9-1 in ISU last 10 overall.
- Under is 7-1 in ISU last 8 non-conference games.
- Under is 7-1 in ISU last 8 home games.
Free CBB Prediction:
This is a rivalry game and Iowa is decent but they are not in the same league as ISU right now. I expect the Cyclones to run away with this one.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Iowa State ATS
It might be close for a while but once they get rolling and the crowd gets into it the Hawkeyes will fade away.
