The San Antonio Spurs have enjoyed an unreal start to the season, and if not for the otherworldly play of the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio would be getting a lot more love from the media.
Instead, it’s just another terrific under the radar season for the Spurs.
On Wednesday night, the Spurs visit the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors have enjoyed some fine wins of their own this season, but the team will be in tough in this one as they take on a Spurs team that is coming off a 51-point victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
San Antonio Spurs:
The Spurs have the second-best record in basketball at 18-4, and have now won four in a row after downing the Sixers 119-68 on Monday. San Antonio shot 61.8 percent from the field in that one en route to the decisive victory.
Amazingly enough, San Antonio picked up that victory despite the absences of stars Kawhi Leonard, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili.
The team limited the 76ers to a 34.7 percent shooting effort. Now they’ll get Duncan and Ginobili back for this game, while Leonard is questionable with an illness.
The Raptors took on a lesser opponent themselves on Monday, but they did receive a bit of a scare from the Los Angeles Lakers in an eventual 102-93 victory, which put an end to a three-game home losing streak.
Point guard Kyle Lowry scored 27 points in the win.
In his previous game, Lowry scored 41 points in a loss to the Warriors on Saturday. He’s hit on 11 of 21 attempts from beyond the arc in his last two games.
Former Spur and current Raptors backup point guard Cory Joseph is averaging 11.5 points per game and is seeing bigger minutes of late, averaging 28 per contest over his last six games.
NBA Betting Trends:

- The Spurs are 1-4 ATS in their last five games after scoring 100 or more points in their previous contest.
- The Raptors are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against opponents with a winning percentage above .600.
- The Raptors are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games against opponents with a winning record.
- The Raptors are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against Western Conference opponents.
Free NBA Prediction:
The Raptors are 3-6 in their last nine games against Western Conference opponents. However, the team gave the Warriors a real run for their money, and have stepped up their game to its highest level when taking on the elite teams in the NBA
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Raptors +5.5
Toronto figures to step up its game and give San Antonio everything its got in this one.
The Spurs are also dealing with a flu bug, which could keep Leonard out of this contest, so they’re not in optimal position to run up the score here.
