Looking for 2016 Golden State Warriors Predictions? We’ve got your back. No team created headlines like the Golden State Warriors during 2016 free agency. They won the Kevin Durant sweepstakes after blowing a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and they’re now the odds-on favorites to win a title in 2017 after setting the single-season record for wins in 2016.

Golden State Warriors Strengths:
Where to begin…
The Golden State Warriors were the most dominant regular-season team in NBA history during the 2015-16 campaign.
They had the first-ever unanimous MVP leading the way in Stephen Curry, they had the ideal second option in Klay Thompson and they had the ultimate glue guy in Draymond Green impacting the game on both sides of the floor.
Simply put: The Warriors used their modern-day, fast-paced (yet fluid) offense to dominate opponents and run them out of the gym.
Oh yeah — they’ve also added Kevin Durant.
With Durant on board, nothing seems impossible for this Warriors squad. Three-point shooting should inconceivably improve, and last year’s unanimous MVP all of a sudden becomes the team’s second option.
Yes, that means Thompson, one of the greatest shooters to ever grace the hardwood, is now a tertiary scoring option on this roster.
Typically when a team is this good, the head coach gets zero to little credit (and rightfully so). You don’t see anyone giving Tyronn Lue too many props for letting LeBron James do what LeBron James wanted during last year’s championship run.
But with Steve Kerr, it’s different. Yes, Luke Walton stepped in during Kerr’s absence and the team didn’t skip a beat; however, it was Kerr’s system in place.
It was a system that took the Warriors from a defensive juggernaut with a stale offense under Mark Jackson to a championship level.
You can’t look at this team’s strengths without looking at the system and culture Kerr has instilled since his arrival.
Golden State Warriors Weaknesses:
Golden State has been known for numerous positive things over the past few years, one of them being chemistry.
The move to bring in Durant has people wondering if there are enough balls on the court for all of the scorers.
With Curry, Thompson and Durant all fighting for shots, you have to question if ego will eventually get in the way, even though the preseason hasn’t indicated it will.
You also have to wonder about how Green will respond to even fewer shots than he was getting before.
There’s also the question of general cohesion after watching key cogs such as Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli depart.
With Durant coming on board, it was simply impossible to keep those folks around with salary cap factors in mind.
Look for this to be a storyline early in the year, as well as any time trouble appears to be on the horizon.
Speaking of trouble on the horizon, “trouble” is going to be very loosely defined for Golden State this season. Any time the Warriors lose more than one in a row, people are going to question what is happening.
Three in a row? The world will almost certainly, literally be coming to an end.
Expectations are going to be astronomical for this group, so the hope is that the players on board are used to it at this point in the process.
Golden State Warriors Betting Prediction: 67-15
Vegas has set the over/under at 66.5 for the Warriors. That is a crazy number…and Golden State will likely exceed it.
Although the team has no interest in chasing another regular-season wins record, victories aren’t going to be difficult to come by.
Last year, we saw this group sit its starters for entire fourth quarters multiple games in a row — don’t be shocked to see that again this year.
In terms of a championship hunt, Golden State is the odds-on favorite for a reason. You can claim it’s Cleveland’s championship to lose if you want, but this team right here is built for a championship.
Unless injuries hit or chemistry becomes a legitimate issue, there’s no reason to bet against the Warriors in 2016-17.
