However, the Warriors proved to be too much for James as the Warriors eventually went on to win the NBA Championship.
While nothing was guaranteed, a Finals with Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving along side Lebron James, things could have just as easily went the opposite way. Still, With Love signing a long term contract and Irving gaining his health back, Cleveland is poised for a big season here in 2015.
Cavaliers Strengths:
Cleveland’s strengths list can go in many different directions. This team has the leadership, clutch factor, scoring threats, depth, etc.

Big 3
Lebron James nearly led the Cavaliers to a Championship by himself in the NBA Finals last year. With rumors that Kevin Love would leave, he put an end to that real quick by signing a 6 year deal with the Cavs. Love’s shoulder was dislocated in the first round of the NBA Playoffs and he missed the entire postseason. Love announced he had unfinished business with the Cavaliers.
Kyrie Irving had just about everything wrong with him in the playoffs. His ankles, knees, you name, he had a problem with it. It’s clearly not age catching up with him so that’s not a concern at all. It just seemed like Irving was always the unfortunate one in terms of the injuries.
Now, he’s had an off-season to relax and get himself back to 100%.
Mo Buckets
With the Cavaliers resigning and working out contracts for the likes of Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, they also went out and signed Mo Williams back into a Cavaliers uniform. Williams was with the Cavaliers when Lebron decided to jump ship and head to Miami.
Now, the two are reunited and the addition adds more depth to an already deep Cavs team.
Cavaliers Weaknesses:
The Cavaliers main weakness is no secret. The health factor is the most important thing for Cleveland this season. While they would like to see Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love suit up every game, getting them the necessary rest along with the others is an absolute must.

Kyrie Irving
Irving suffered injuries to both legs last season along with the injury to the knee cap that put an end to his season.
Irving suffered the fractured knee cap, along with a left shoulder strain and knee tendentious. While he used the off-season to get back to full health, the Cavaliers must make sure they do not overplay him in the regular season. Giving him rest is important so he can be 100% for the playoffs.
Anderson Varejao
It’s been a very rare occasion for Varejao to not be injured. He’s continued to have season ending injuries while in a Cavaliers uniform and last season was no different. Varejao injured his achilles and felt it was the smart decision to shut down until this coming season.
If Varejao can stay healthy, he will be a giant part of the Cavaliers and offer such a solid complement to their big men.
Kevin Love
Love’s injury last year in the NBA Playoffs was a killer for him. Love was not just a massive scoring threat, but he was a rebounding machine for Cleveland. Him along with Irving and James had built such a solid chemistry it was nearly unstoppable.
However, returning from a dislocated shoulder is going to involve a lot of precautions. Expect him to start the season off slow and gain the strength back.
Cavaliers Key Personnel Losses:
- NONE
When is the last time you saw that? The Cavaliers literally lost nobody this past off-season. They resigned Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson and JR Smith. They even retained the rights of James Jones and Matthew Dellavedova. The Cavs have the money and spent the money this pas toff season.

Cavaliers Top Newcomers:
- Mo Williams, Richard Jefferson
The addition of Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson offer the Cavaliers much more depth and talent off the bench. Mo Williams certainly still has it as he dropped 52 points in a game last season.
Williams and James also already have the chemistry as played together prior to Lebron’s move to Miami.
Jefferson offers a solid veteran leadership along with experience.
Cavaliers 2015 Betting Prediction: 60-22
When you don’t win the Championship in the previous season and come in to the following season as big favorites, that’s quite the motive.
With a healthy core back of Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and Anderson Varejao back, this Cavaliers team has the best depth in the league.
