The All-Star break couldn’t come soon enough for the Chicago Bulls, who went into the break having lost four in a row and six of seven. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers won three in a row and eight of 10 prior to All-Star weekend, and sit alone atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Now the teams face off at Quicken Loans Arena in Ohio in the first game back for both sides. The Cavaliers will be looking to extend their lead atop the East, while the Bulls need to put in work to maintain their status as a playoff team.
Chicago Bulls:
With star guard Jimmy Butler down with an injury, the Bulls have asked other players to step up their game to make up for his absence. Pau Gasol has been great for the team all season long, and he came up big again for them in their final game before the break.

Gasol posted 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, hitting on 9 of his 16 field goal attempts in a 113-90 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
Doug McDermott played 37 minutes and score 17 points, hitting on 6 of 12 shots from the field.
Cleveland Cavaliers:
The Cavaliers put up 120 points in each of their final two games prior to the break. Kyrie Irving led the team with 35 points on 15 of 24 shooting in a 120-111 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
LeBron James added 29 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
The Cavaliers hit on 51.1 percent of their shots from the field, including 41.9 percent of their shots from beyond the arc.

- The Bulls are 17-7 ATS in the last 24 meetings between these teams.
- The road team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these teams.
- The underdog is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings between these teams.
- The Cavaliers are 1-5-2 ATS in their last eight games against Eastern Conference opponents.
Free NBA Prediction:
The Cavaliers are the better team here, but there may be some trouble in paradise. After spending their week off listening to rumors that Kevin Love may be shipped out of town in favor of another power forward, Cleveland may be a little shaky out of the gate.
The Bulls, meanwhile, are a prideful group that will want to answer back from their rough patch leading into the break. Don’t be surprised if to see them pull out an A-effort on the road to start their second half.
