Phoenix is not much of a factor in the West, even though the conference is down this season.

Indiana is in a dogfight in the tough Eastern Conference. They are going to have to keep scooping up these easy ones.
Atlanta Hawks:
The are coming into this one off two large margin of victory wins over hapless Philadelphia and Chicago. They have the third most wins in the Eastern Conference.
This team may lack the elite level that last year’s group had but they are definitely still in the upper echelon in the East. Their biggest challenge this year has been consistency.

There are three players on the injury report for this one, but Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver and Thabo Sefalosha are all probable. Teague is probably the key as a counter to Kemba Walker.
You can’t pin it all on Korver but the main reason for the Hawks lack of consistency this season is that they are no longer a great deep shooting team. Korver is down and they miss Demare Carroll.
It looks like Atlanta is going to fight it all season long but they are still a definite playoff team.
Charlotte Hornets
They are only separated by six games but this one pits the best (Atlanta) and the worst (Charlotte) in the Southeast Division.
Not helping their pursuit of climbing up the standings is the fact that Big Al Jefferson is out. Al Horford is coming off a big game for the Hawks and he would have been key in limiting him.
The Hornets have lost seven in a row and the biggest challenge they have is scoring. Walker has proven adept at making difficult shots but too often his teammates are standing around watching instead of making plays and working off him.
Right now Nicolas Batum is the second leading scorer but he should not be elevated to that kind of important role and I am not a fan of the games of Jeremy Lin or Jeremy Lamb. Neither are consistent enough.
Without Jefferson the Hornets really struggle to get any sort of production up front. Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller do not demand much attention and Frank Kaminsky has yet to find his way in the NBA.

When the Hornets were winning I didn’t understand shy. Now that they are struggling it is obvious.

Home dogs are always tempting, especially for me, but I am going with Atlanta here.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Atlanta ATS
I don’t like the depth of the Hornets at all. Their “talent” does not seem to complement each other.
