Sprint Cup – NASCAR Duck Commander 500 Odds
Race: Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway
Date: Saturday, April 9
Time: 7:30 p.m. (ET)
Broadcast: FOX
It was probably just a matter of time before defending Sprint Cup Champ Kyle Busch laid claim to his first checkered flag this season and he got the job done last Sunday at Martinsville.
A pair of longshots paid-off big in a bet on a Top 3 finish after AJ Allmendinger and Kyle Larson took second and third in that race.
The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Saturday night’s race in Texas based on betting odds provided by TopBet.
NASCAR Duck Commander 500 Odds – The Favorite (odd of less than 10/1)
Sometimes it makes sense to try and stretch the odds when picking a favorite and sometimes the best play is to go chalk with the top favorite.

That is my course of action this week with Jimmie Johnson as my top pick at +450 odds.
He is the only two-time winner this season with victories at Atlanta and Fontana and despite last week’s slip to ninth at Martinsville, the No. 48 race team has had the best car on the track a week-to-week basis.
The main reason I am going with Johnson is his complete dominance at this track over the past few seasons.

It started with a victory in the second race here in 2014 followed by a sweep in last year’s two Sprint Cup events.
NASCAR Duck Commander 500 Odds – Top Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)
One of my favorite drivers to use in the contender category is Denny Hamlin and I really like his longer +1200 betting odds to win on Saturday night.
The No. 11 car squeezed-out a thrilling victory at Daytona to get the 2016 season off to a strong start and it came very close to winning again at both Phoenix and Fontana with back-to-back third-place runs.
Hamlin is coming off a rough week at Martinsville after getting taken out of that race in a wreck, but I am looking for him to stay near the front of the pack this Saturday night.
It has been a rough couple of runs for Denny at Texas over the last few seasons, but he did post a season sweep at Texas in 2010.
NASCAR Duck Commander 500 Odds – The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)
After last Sunday’s close call for Allmendinger and Larson as longshots, I am encouraged that we might see another spoiler step-up and shock the favorites in this race.
I have settled-in on Jamie McMurray at +3800 betting odds as my top-valued longshot to get it done.
It has been a very quiet start for the No. 1 car this year with just one Top 10 run, but this team has raced well enough to hold down the No. 13 spot in the current Spring Cup standings.
I also like the fact that McMurray is coming off a solid sixth-place run in this event last season and he has now finished inside the Top 10 in his last three races at Fort Worth.
