A pair of struggling American League teams begin a three-game series as the Minnesota Twins take on the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.
Both teams surprised the majors last season because nobody expected either of them do be competitive, yet that’s exactly what they were.
However, both the Twins and the Astros have combined to start the season 14-28 and are in desperate need of a hot streak.
With just one win away from home, The Twins have the worst road record of any team in the majors. Minnesota is just 1-10 on the road this year, and the team looks like it’s taken a step back from the strides it made last year.
The Twins can’t hit, and they can’t really pitch either.
Byung Ho Park’s six home runs leads the team and Joe Mauer leads the club with a .321 batting average. The Twins need to score some runs against Dallas Keuchel, but it won’t be an easy task.
Minnesota will send Jose Berrios to the hill in this one.
He was roughed up in his first start of the year, allowing five earned runs in just four innings of work against the Indians.
The Astros have gotten off to a miserable start after taking the majors by storm last season, and ace Dallas Keuchel continues to be hot and cold on the road.
Keuchel has a 4.41 ERA this year and a K/BB ratio of just 2/1.
He’s given up 11 earned runs over his last two starts, but both of them came on the road.
In his only home start of the season, Keuchel went eight innings and didn’t allow a run in a 1-0 Houston victory.
The Astros always feel confident they’ll win when he takes the mound at home, but they’ll still need to score some runs to help him out.
Houston is just 2-8 in its last 10 games and needs to make up some serious ground in the AL West.

Free Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros MLB Prediction:
Both clubs are having awful starts to the season and it’s difficult to put money down on either of them at the moment. Having said that, the Astros are a completely different team when Keuchel is on the mound at home.
He’s an All-Star pitcher when he pitches at Minute Maid Park, and the Astros are always in position to win in that situation.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Houston ML
It’s impossible to bet against the Houston Astros at home when Keuchel is on the mound. The number is pretty steep for a team that’s just 7-17, but Keuchel is about as automatic as they come at home.
The Twins also have the worst road record in the big leagues, so I’ll take Houston any day in this instance.
