It didn’t take much offense, but Baltimore has won back to back games to start the season and will now look for the sweep on Thursday.
Baltimore got another solid pitching performance and added a home run from Chris Davis to secure their fate.
The Orioles are giving their fan base a lot of hope through the first two games of the season. The O’s pitching has surrendered just 4 runs through the first 2 games of the season and they come in off a 4-2 showing where Yovani Gallardo allowed just 2 hits in just 5 innings of work.
Baltimore’s offense hasn’t been spectacular, but they Chris Davis, who was signed to a giant contract, make his first impact on the season with a home run in the bottom of the 3rd on Wednesday.
Trying to feed off back to back solid performances from starters, the Orioles will send out Ubaldo Jimenez. The RH had a decent season last year going 12-10, but had a 4 plus ERA which is something he must improve on here in 2016. Command is the biggest thing for Ubaldo Jimenez. Slowing the game down and not overthrowing is an absolute must to success this season.
Minnesota vastly improved in the offseason, but they still have shown they need some work. Minnesota has put up just 2 runs a piece in the opening two games as they’re seeing some early season nerves from their younger players.
One of those players is Byron Buxton. Buxton has 5 strikeouts over the first two games, but he did get a pair of doubles in Wednesday’s loss. Him, along with Sanu, will be a giant key to success this season. These young guns can provide a spark and get the offense going.
Minnesota will send out Phil Hughes. The fly ball pitcher took a step back last year, but still managed a winning season at 11-9. Hughes is a typical fly ball pitcher and with Baltimore being a hitters ballpark, things may not bode well for him here. Hughes made one start against Baltimore last year and allowed a pair of homeruns.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:
- Over is 8-1 in MIN last 9 Thu. games.

- BAL are 15-2 in Jimenezs last 17 home starts.
- MIN are 8-1 in the last 9 meetings.
Free Minnesota Twins vs. Baltimore Orioles MLB Prediction:
Runs could be very high here.
Phil Hughes and his fly ball style doesn’t match well with Camden Yards and Ubaldo Jimenez has always had control problems. Look for there to be a lot of base runners in this one, with plenty of scoring chances for both teams.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: OVER the number
A back and forth game features home runs and a lot of extra base hits as the Orioles complete the sweep.
