Key Additions
- • Dioner Navarro
- • Todd Frazier
- • Brett Lawrie
The White Sox went out and plugged the holes that they needed on this team to be competitive. Todd Frazier was the big signing this offseason, where he is coming off one of his best years of his career.
Dioner Narvarro is a veteran catcher than will be able to man the behind the dish duties.

Brett Lawrie was another huge sign for the White Sox this offseason where he should fill in nicely in the middle infield and in the middle of the order.
Key Departures
- • Jeff Samardzija
- • Geovanny Soto
The White Sox acquired some big parts of their team, but when they acquired great players, they left a good pitcher in Jeff Samardzija go. Samardzija was able to go out and get paid this summer at a limit that the Sox were unable to match.
Geovanny Soto should not hurt as much as he is basically the same player as Navarro.
2016 White Sox Predictions – Projected Lineup:
1. Adam Eaton OF
2. Jose Abreu DH
3. Melky Cabrera OF
4. Todd Frazier 3B
5. Brett Lawrie 2B
6. Adam LaRoche 1B
7. Dioner Navarro C
8. Avisail Garcia OF
9. Tyler Saladino SS
This White Sox lineup is very strong on paper but have a great opportunity to be a big bust from beginning to end. It is led by two young players that had great seasons last year.
Adam Eaton will fill in the lead off duties fairly well as he posted a .361 on-base percentage, and Jose Abreu will likely fill the 2 hole, he hit for good power last season hitting 30 dingers.
The middle of the White Sox lineup is where could be found to be very inconsistent. Melky Cabrera and Todd Frazier will likely fill the 3-4 order in some way. Cabrera was able to hit .273 last season which he can be found to be around that to lower than that.
Frazier had a better year than usual, especially in the beginning of the season.

Frazier ended up have 35 home runs for the Reds after cooling down after the all-star break.
The bottom of the lineup should not show much production for the White Sox this season, where they should hope to hit in the .250 range or a little higher.
2016 White Sox Predictions – Projected Rotation:
1. Chris Sale
2. Jose Quintana
3. Carlos Rodon
4. John Danks
5. Erik Johnson
This pitching staff will have big shoes to fill with the loss of their 2-3 man Jeff Samardzija. Chris Sale will be the unanimous 1 man in the rotation where he will likely be an all-star caliber performer for most of the season.
I look for Jose Quintana to fill the 2 spot and have a better year besides his 9-10 record last season. The bottom of the rotation is what will need to be success for this team to be good.
Carlos Rodon will need to perform the way that he has shown at points in last years outings.
The veteran John Danks will need be much better than his 7-15 record he can look for his spot to be taken by a prospect.
Look for the last spot to be filled by either Erik Johnson or Mat Latos. I have Johnson the first start as Latos seemed to struggle at times last season.
2016 White Sox Predictions – Projected Bullpen:
1. David Robertson
2. Zach Duke
The bullpen was good at times last year but needs to hope to be set up for more save opportunities this season. David Robertson will be closing games for the Sox where he contributed 34 saves last season.
I look for Robertson’s numbers will improve with the better offense this season. Zach Duke will be setting him up which he has shown to do well in that spot, scoring 66 k’s last season.
2016 Chicago White Sox Season Predictions:
The American League Central will be wide open this season as I do not think that there is a for sure winner in that division.
This White Sox roster will fare much better at the plate than last season with the new acquisitions, but I see them hurting with not improving on the arms they have in their starting lineup.
[dfads params=’groups=213&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
They will need one of their pitchers to step up for 11-13 wins for this team to sniff the playoffs.
My Prediction: I think that pitching is going to kill this team this year.
I see them finishing 4th in the American League Central, behind the Royals, Tigers, Indians, and in front of the Twins.
