Tigers National Championship Odds
Clemson Tigers +6.5
14-0
1st ACC
The Clemson Tigers have been written off this season, especially down the stretch of the season. They sat #1 in the nation and people doubted them against North Carolina in the ACC Championship. Then, in the semi final game, they came in as 4 point underdogs to Oklahoma, the #4 team. Clemson had no problem handling them. Now they’ll try for one more upset as they look to knock off Alabama.

Led by Deshaun Watson, the Clemson Tigers offense has been one of the best in the nation. The Tigers have racked up 10 wins in each of the last 5 seasons. This year has the exception as they’ve won 14 and remain the only unbeaten in the nation. Can they stay unbeaten for one more game?
DeShaun Watson
There is no need to get creative here. DeShaun Watson has been the main reason for this teams success. Watson has battled back from many injuries throughout his tenure at Clemson and has turned in his best season of his career.

The star QB threw for 3699 yards and had 31 passing touchdowns and also showed off his running skills as he found the end zone on the ground 12 times with 1032 rush yards.
Look for Watson to use both his arm and legs in this one to beat Alabama.
The Offensive Line Is Strong
Alabama will stack the box all night long and try to force DeShaun Watson into some pressured situations.
If one team can handle them, it’s Clemson.

The offensive line allowed just 16 sacks in the 14 games they’ve played this season. If they can hold firm, Watson and use the play action to take shots deep down the field.
Nothing Over The Top
The Tigers defense was inconsistent at times, but the secondary has been one of the best in the nation.
Cornerbacks Mackensie Alexander and Cordrea Tankersley both have the ability to play without help over the top, allowing the Tigers to stack the box even more. Expect one of them to be on Calvin Ridley, who is the only main target for Coker.
With the Corners not needing help, Safety Jayron Kearse can step up and play closer to the line of scrimmage. He can either play a short zone in coverage or even blitz to try and stop Henry.
Artavis Scott
The star WR may slip under the radar here on Jan. 11.
The rushing attack has been the highlight for Clemson the past two games in wins over UNC and Oklahoma. Alabama is one of the best at stopping the run and will likely slow down the attack.
That means Watson will look to Scott out wide. Scott had 805 yards and 5 touchdowns this season. He’ll be a down field threat that can make a big play and change the momentum of the game.
Silence The Doubters
All week long, the Tigers have been hearing “Alabama this” “Clemson can’t stop this”.
Well, this is the Tigers chance to gain all that respect. They remain the only unbeaten team in the nation and have flown through each and every opponent.

Oddsmakers haven’t given them respect and neither has the media. Clemson will pull out all the stops and all the tricks plays they have to win this game. It’s their time, and they will succeed here.
