NFL Conference Championship Round playoff betting
Plenty of drama unfolded during the divisional rounds and we’ve found ourselves down to the final 4 with New England, Denver, Arizona, and Carolina.
Four elite QBs in Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, and Cam Newton all step into the gauntlet this week with 2 spots in the Superbowl on the line.
The AFC will be represented by New England who knocked off Kansas City and by the Broncos who came from behind to beat the Steelers.
In the NFC, Arizona saw Aaron Rodgers heave a Hail Mary to tie things up, but battle back in overtime with a huge Palmer to Fitzgerald connection. As for Carolina, they raced out to a 31-0 lead, only to hold on by a touchdown against Seattle.
NFL Conference Championship Playoffs
AFC Championship: New England Patriots (13-4) vs. Denver Broncos (13-4)
NFL Betting Line: New England -3; 44.5NFC Championship: Arizona Cardinals (14-3) vs. Carolina Panthers (16-1)
NFL Betting Line: Carolina -3; 47.5
New England will have the chance to defend their Conference Championship as one year ago they took it to the Indianapolis Colts in Foxbourough. This year will be a little different as they’ll be on the road in the mile high thin air taking on Denver.

Carolina and Cam Newton have taken the NFL by storm and they continue to dominate team after team. They raced out to a 31-0 lead and even though they nearly blew it, they still proved their offense is unstoppable at times. They’ll take on a Cardinals team who showed a lot of perseverance after Rodgers threw Hail Mary pass to tie things up. Carson Palmer found Fitzgerald for a huge play and then an eventual touchdown in overtime.
New England vs. Denver
This is a rematch of Sunday Night Football from earlier in the year when the Broncos took down the Patriots in overtime.
Snowy conditions caused major field problems, but that didn’t slow down CJ Anderson and Brock Osweiler. The Broncos tied things up late and got a 51 yard touchdown run from Anderson in overtime to grab a win.
This will more than likely mark the final time we see Tom Brady and Peyton Manning go at it. Brady threw for 280- yards and 3 touchdowns in the overtime loss and will likely face similar weather conditions here.
This will be different this time around as Manning will be under center. The Broncos offense looked lifeless for 3.5 quarters last time out against Pittsburgh until a fumble changed the entire complexion of the game.
Things will be tougher for the Pats as they hit the road for this one. However, the two teams in this one looked completely different last week. The Pats offense was in complete rhythm with Julian Edelman back out wide for Brady.
The Broncos had zero offense going as they continued to hear boos from the crowd for 3.5 quarters. Manning did what he did all season long when he was the starter, find ways to win. He led Denver for the game winning drive and will continue to have a chance to finish his career off with a ring.
The run game will be the most crucial here for Denver. They need to establish something on the ground or the Pats defense will have a field day knocking down Manning.
Prediction: New England -3
New England Patriots 27- Denver Broncos 20

Arizona Cardinals vs. Carolina Panthers
The Cardinals had enough to deal with this last week, but managed to prevail at home.
Arizona led 20-13 and had Green Bay in a 4th and 20 situation from their own end zone. Rodgers hooked up for a 50 yard pass to set the Packers up with a chance. With just 1 play left, Rodgers heaved the ball to the end zone and tied things up creating a drama filled over time.
Things got even more wacky when the coin didn’t flip the first time in overtime and the ref had to redo it.
As for Carolina, they led 31-0 at the half and it became known the Panthers were no fluke. However, Seattle and Pete Carroll didn’t quit and they rattled off 24 unanswered to set up an onside kick situation. The Seahawks failed to recover and the Panthers held on to move to 16-1 on the season.
Carolina will look to get their defense back on track as they completely lost it in the 2nd half.
Prediction: Carolina -3
A very generous number here on the best team in football, at home. Look for the Panthers to really come out firing offensively, like they did against Seattle.
The lone shot here for Arizona is that they need to establish some sort of ground game. Keeping the Panthers honest is the only way here for them.
Carolina Panther 27- Arizona Cardinals 17
