Is Temple really for real?
Well, they are not known as a football powerhouse, but they are sitting at 4-0 and already have wins over Penn State and Cincinnati this season. They open at home as 16-point favorites facing a 2-2 Tulane squad.
While Tulane is at 2-2 they are 1-0 in the AAC, just like Temple, after their win over UCF in their last game.
The Green Wave lost their first 2 games of the season to qualify opponents and have won their last 2 games.

These 2 teams met last season in the last game at Tulane and the Owls pulled out a 10-3 win in a defensive battle.
Tulane
OK, so Tulane did play Central Florida in their last game, but they were solid on both sides of the ball with nearly 400 yards of total offense and while they did give up 31 points they did force 5 turnovers.
Green Wave QB Tanner Lee was solid in the UCF game and he has a couple of solid WR’s in Teddy Veal and Devon Breaux, who each have at least 240 receiving yards and have combined for 5 TD.
Lee and the Green Wave will have to have a good passing attack to pull off the upset in this game, ad their rushing offense only ranks 115th in the nation and their leading RB only has 170 rushing yards through 4 games.
The match up for Tulane facing the Temple offense is a good one, as the Owls only rank 105th in pass defense as opposed to 29th in pass defense.

Since Tlane will rely on the pass, for the most part, in this game it is key that their offense line play well facing an Owls team that ranked up 10 sacks in their season opening win against Penn State and ranks 17th in the nation in sacks on the season.
Temple
Temple crushed Charlotte in their last game 37-3 and while the Owls were out gained in yardage in the game they did not let Charlotte in the end zone.
The one player the Green Wave defense really has to worry about is Owls’ RB Jahad Thomas, who rushed for 109 yards in the win over Charlotte and also caught 3 balls for 48 yards.
Temple does not have a dynamic offense, but it is a balanced one ranking 99th in the nation in passing yards per game and 88th in rushing yards per game.
QB P.J. Walker has 5 TD and 2 INT on the season and while the Owls do not have a deep WR corps they have 3 players with over 100 receiving yards on the season.

Tulane may have to score big to win this conference game, as they rank 104th in the nation in pass defense and 80th in run defense.
