Two Big 12 teams who are in search of two more wins this season get ready for a battle at high noon as the Texas Longhorns and the West Virginia Mountaineers get set for battle.
The Longhorns and Mountaineers both currently sit at 4 wins, just 2 wins shy of bowl eligibility.

While both teams have no chance at grabbing a Big 12 Championship this season, a postseason bowl is realistic for both and a win this week will go a long way.
Texas will endure the tougher road of the two in terms of opponents down the stretch of the season.
Texas
The Longhorns flopped early out of the gates and are now paying the price as they go through the toughest part of their schedule in hopes of grabbing 2 wins.
The Longhorns will have to deal with the Mountaineers this week and then get both Texas Tech and Baylor to finish things up. A loss this week would put the backs of the Longhorns extremely against the wall as they take on 2 of the highest scoring offenses in the Big 12.

Texas does come in with a bit of momentum as they got a giant win last week over Kansas. The Longhorns rushed for 299 yards against a hopeless Jayhawks defense.
D’Onta Foreman had a career high 157 yards, which pushed his total to 534 on the season, as he looks to finish this season on a high note with his continuous improvements.
Over the past 5 games, QB Tyrone Swoopes has been working out of the short yardage package, which has proved to be extremely productive for the Longhorns. Swoopes has has 216 yards to go along with 7 rushing touchdowns and 2 passing touchdowns out of this package.
West Virginia
The Mountaineers were one of the few teams to slow down the Red Raiders offense as they used their run game as a giant part in the win over Texas Tech last week.
West Virginia rushed for 300 yards, which not only was helpful on the scoreboard, but it also kept the ball out of the Red Raiders hands as the Mountaineers got their 4th win and will look to make it 5 at home this week.

Wendell Smallwood continues to lead the charge for the Mountaineers run game. Overall, Smallwood has 954 yards and 6 touchdowns as he ranks 2nd in the Big 12 in terms of rush yards per game. In the nation, he ranks 10th with 6.7 yards per carry.
Rushel Shell adds to a dangerous backfield as he’s rumbled for 437 yards and 5 touchdowns.
