SEC football will be live and on center stage in Columbia Saturday night when the Tennessee Volunteers hit the road to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The Volunteers have dropped a couple after getting off to an impressive start this year and will look to get things back on track against South Carolina.

The Volunteers had their bye last week while the Gamecocks will be coming into this one looking for their second win in a row after holding on against UMass 34-28 last weekend.
Tennessee was able to come away with a 27-24 victory when these two schools met up last year.
Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee was able to turn some heads after getting off to a 5-0 start this season, but then had their hearts broken in overtime against Texas A&M before being demolished by Alabama 49-10.
The Crimson Tide outplayed the Volunteers in every category of the game, including out gaining them 594 total yards to just 163.
There was absolutely nothing Tennessee could do but watch when Bama ran the ball, giving up a total of 438 yards on the ground.
The Vols were unable to answer, putting up a measly 32 rushing yards of their own.

The Tennessee offense has been mediocre at best, but they have found away to put up an average of 30.4 points on the board per game.
The defense has been horrible against the run, giving up an average of 215.3 per game with an average of 29.9 points.
This week’s game against South Carolina could be just what the Vols need to get things turned around and back on track.
South Carolina Gamecocks
The Gamecocks were involved in a out of conference game last week against the Minute Men and after building an early lead, it took everything South Carolina had to hold on for a win.
The fourth quarter began with South Carolina up 34-14, but they were given a scare in route to a 34-28 victory.
It has been another rough Season for the Gamecocks, but they have already been able to win as many games as they did through the entire season last year.
[dfads params=’groups=219&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
They have yet to win a game this season by more than six points, but have at least been able to put up more of a fight this year, even in the games they have lost.
It is yet to be determined exactly who will be under center against Tennessee, but I look for Jake Bentley to be in the game after he threw for two touchdowns to go a long with his 201 yards against the Minute Men.
The most impressive thing he might have done in the game is complete all four quarters without throwing an interception.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends
- The Total has gone over in 5 of Tennessee’s previous 6 games.
- The Volunteers are 4-1 against the spread in their previous 5 on the road.
- The Gamecocks are 2-4 against the spread in their previous 6 games.
Free Week 9 NCAA Football Prediction
The Volunteers have been in a real slump as of late and this is the perfect game for them to get things back on track.
Their defense is much stronger then the South Carolina defense and after facing the like of A&M and Bama, the offense should finally have some room to breath with the ball.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Tennessee -13.5
The Gamecocks have a good enough defense to stay in this one for a while, but by the end of the third I look for Tennessee to start pulling away. I like the Volunteers -13.5.
