The Houston Cougars look to stay unbeaten when they welcome in the SMU Mustangs for a Thursday night clash.
Houston continues to roll as they went on the road last week and knocked off Tulsa.

SMU’s 1-4 record is a bit deceiving. While they haven’t played well, they have also played some of the top teams in the nation.
Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM EST.
SMU
The Mustangs will need quite the run here to get themselves in Bowl eligibility position. That’s going to be some task to accomplish as they realistically can lose just 2 games to have a chance.
Being 1-4 doesn’t mean this team has played all that bad. They managed to put points on the board every week, which is something they failed to do last year as they averaged a mere 11 points per game.

They’ve also had the daunting task of dealing with the likes of TCU and Baylor. Last week, they took on East Carolina, who is an under the radar solid team. SMU saw East Carolina racked up 42 straight points in the game.
The Mustangs actually raced out to a 23-7 lead, only to lose 49-23 after ECU went on their 42-0 run.
QB Matt Davis finished 19 of 37 for 250 yards, but the run game was where the Mustangs failed. They rushed for only 40 yards in the losing effort.
Houston
The Cougars enter this week 4-0 and continue their trek toward cracking the Top 25. A win this week is an absolute must if they hope to at least have a chance.
Houston went on the road last week and closed as 7 point favorites over Tulsa. After a back and forth first half, Houston capped off the 2nd quarter by going up 21-10 with just 12 seconds to go.
Houston eventually used a late touchdown to grab a 38-24 win and cover the number.

Greg Ward Jr. finished with 273 yards and ran for 182 yards. Ward Jr. also added 3 touchdowns to his name.
Kenneth Farrow also added to the Cougars’ impressive stats as he finished with 159 yards on 19 carries to go along with a pair of touchdowns.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Prediction
The Cougars offense is quite threatening at the moment. This team is very impressive and even their defense, which is what they’ve always have been missing, is clicking.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Houston ATS
Greg Ward Jr. has proved he has the playmaking abilities. With the way he’s moving this Cougars’ offense, covering this big number against a bad defense should be no problem.
